Compared to other Estimating software I have used, InEight has superior capabilities and features. The ability to use a line item or an assembly to create an estimate is an outstanding feature of the program. The ability to create crew rates and use them in the estimate is a handy feature, especially when estimating construction projects.

Here, I will suggest that it is best to create employees, clients, or project reports. Easy to track with the dashboards. I did many integrations and developments. I can not list each of them here. I will say the best tool for management. I couldn't see criteria of unsuitable. But yes It will depend on the client's requirements. I will suggest it as very user-friendly tool for CEOs, CTOs, Managers, and company owners also for team.

Pros
  • Tracking labor and equipment hours to specific estimated scope line items
  • Creating detailed work breakdown structures within Estimate and using that same structure to apply cost to during the job
  • Creating custom data blocks in control to track progress and create forecasts

  • Set stages for each task and assign people to those stages to move projects along
  • Set up automated tasks to get assigned to people and to send out notifications to Slack as well as emails to contractors to work on a project
  • Create multiple boards for projects and the ability to review tasks by date to make sure no project slips through the cracks

Cons
  • We do not use the search engine since it was last modified. It is no longer user friendly.
  • We used to like the way we could change the position of line items. The function has been changed to where it is not user friendly anymore.
  • The "Save" and "Delete" options are right next to each other. I have been after Ineight to change these for a long time but they have not.

  • Ensuring I have set up a Private board vs public board is not clear - it would be useful to have an additional alert when creating a board as I work with sensitive information. It will eventually be used in a team based environment but while I test the boards, they needs to be private.
  • Time tracking is clumsy, could be easier to record

Some features with InEight's TeamBinder are worthy of single use, however the review feature and subsequent revision and version numbering could be improved. We will be aiming to roll out the package to encompass our internal documentation in the near future and will be in a better position to judge the usability after that point in time.

Teams involved in content creation, such as marketing or editorial teams, could use monday.com to manage the entire content lifecycle. Boards might track content ideas, assignments, drafts, reviews, approvals, and publication schedules, helping teams collaborate and keep content production on track.

Usability
I would give it an 8 out of 10 because the software can be a bit cumbersome to new users. It also takes a long time to set up the library and input all of your companies needs so that the software will provide the level of service required to estimate projects. However, once the software is set up it is a powerful tool. We only use a portion of what the software is capable of delivering

It's straightforward to use and simple to understand. They have tutorials on different elements of the system that you can learn. The workflow there is very intuitive, drag and drop, which doesn't require a learning curve for most people. Templates that also make things more accessible can be found.

Everything performs fairly well. Every now and then there are user errors where an employee will not click "ok" on a note they've created and simply exit out (I do wish that something was in place to prevent this, such as a pop "are you finished?")

Support Rating
Every time I have contacted support, they have gotten back to [me] quickly and with a few solutions. I like that they seem to be US-based, so there is no language barrier when I try to communicate my problem. For the few times, they did not have a solution ready, they told me they would respond later after further research, and they actually followed up! Better than most support I have used in the past with other software.

monday.com only really care about accounts that have 20 seats or more. While this is great for monday.com, it pushes smaller organisations to evaluate alternatives. We rate monday.com highly in our organisation because key staff have already got good experience with the application and we know we will get to 20+ seats one day. But, till then the billing model and lack of permanent enterprise features is a dread.

Online Training

To have someone walk you thru the features and capabilities of Monday.com is priceless. Someone also coming along later in the contract to see if you are maximizing the program to suit your company needs is beyond helpful. The staff that have provided this training are fun, creative and very patient.

Implementation Rating
Since the original inception, I have been required to overhaul the system so that it is more user friendly and combines both aspects of our business, documentation and drawings. Being able to control revision and version numbering has been a key struggle that only staff training has been able to mark this as complete.

We signed up for the accounts. Created the accounts. Ran the trial version and tested it live while we were running multiple projects and found that it was fitting our needs perfectly. When the trial ended and we were asked to purchase the full version, we did. We have found other ways to use it and it's a breeze.

Alternatives Considered
I've used SAP for more than 10 years before my current job in this company. The best thing in SAP, is exactly what I have commented before, it's a single one tool, that does all what InEight do. Here at CCC, we have COINS for cost management, and I don't know exactly if InEight would be able to do whatever that COINS does, but what I'm trying to say is that, for systems, as much less external communication, better. InEight is covering a great portion on planning, we will see schedule and estimate, it will definitely improve, so, waiting on that to see.

We decided to go with monday.com because they offered a free tier for nonprofits and because they are easier to use and offered additional features that we could not find on the other choices. Hands down, there was no better choice for us than monday.com.

Scalability
InEight is a good system that has scaled nicely as the company has grown. the tools are still readily available and applicable for our larger scope of work. It has kept up with the growth of the company very nicely

For it to work across multiple departments and sites, I would like to see improvements made with integrations and automation. For this question, I am acknowledging not only the addition of internal triggers/automation, but also an expansion on external ones.

  • By using monday.com as an enablement tool for templated onboarding plans, we have been able to begin calculating the number of manager hours saved through our work (not defined yet).
  • monday.com's reporting tools also allow us to more easily report on the productivity and output of our team since we keep up with all projects and subitems in monday.com.
