Endpoint Protector by CoSoSys vs. Trellix Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Discover

Endpoint Protector [by CoSoSys] is well suited for an environment where a data loss prevention solution is required and many different operating system types are used. It is also well suited for an organization that has a need to deploy a solution quickly. Endpoint Protector is not well suited for companies that need to have an API or other integrations with other IT tools.

Company data leaking can lead to huge losses. That's why I recommend all my colleagues and any other business person to implement McAfee Total Protection for DLP to gain visibility in data and initiate policy violations that block and encrypt data that's against those policies.

• Use common policies across all channels with company data such as endpoints, cloud applications, and networks.
• McAfee Total Protection for Data Loss Prevention allows us to track and see how company data is getting used and who is using it in real-time.

• App integration - CoSoSys supports a lot of industry standard apps but fails to provide protection on 3rd party applications.
• Complete disk encryption.
• Web filtering features.

• McAfee Total Protection for Data Loss Prevention is a robust tool for scanning network traffic, searching for sensitive company information, and enforcing policies on all data sources, but it lacks enough tutorials for all the features to guide users when using it.

Endpoint Protector [by CoSoSys] was able to be installed on all major operating systems. Endpoint Protector was also able to perform block actions and do it at a granular level among the endpoints. Business needs required a traditional data loss prevention and Endpoint Protector met those needs. We had a need to block some USB storage events and Endpoint Protector met those needs.

McAfee Total Protection for Data Loss Prevention offers multiple modules such as DLP discover, monitor, and prevent among others that make it a robust tool to implement on all DPL scenarios. On the other hand, Paubox Email Suite focuses more on email data loss protection.

• Didn’t work as expected
• Not sure yet if we are going to renew it, thankfully we didn’t make a 3 year contract required by them.
• The are not many options in the market for source code detection, so we may have to stick with it

• We identify the crucial information by classifying data from all sources.
• This tool has enabled us to quarantine and encrypt data transmission that has high-risk potential and is against our policy.
