Cisco Cloud Email Security vs. Symantec Messaging Gateway

We have been using this software at our company for approximately two years now. We have had excellent results from it thus far. This tool is very robust and provides a layered approach towards email security. We have it installed for our employees mobile devices as well.

It is very well suited for an organization that wants to protect inbound email and use just one product. It may be less appropriate for an organization that is small or has a limited IT support staff.

Cisco TAC support is very good since they have engineers available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Important to mention that you must have the support of the solution enabled to be able to receive a response from TAC and that we can be taken care of. The only drawback may be that they will not be able to see settings of the email provider you use.

I would select Cisco for the Cloud Email Security solution because it has high availability. The integrations you have with solutions in the email cloud are very easy to integrate. Cisco Cloud Email Security is among the leaders in email protection solutions. It is important to take into account all the functionality that can be configured and in this way, we will be protected

Without mentioning some of the other products by name, I can tell you that Symantec Messaging Gateway is one of the best.

• Cisco was priced better than some of the other best of breed providers.
• It has significantly reduced our spam and malicious content to our users compared to our previous deprecated on-prem email gateway.
• The ease of adding a new site.

• It would be difficult to determine the exact ROI Symantec Messaging Gateway had on your overall business. However, I can assure you the downtime suffered due to inbound email threats has been reduced to nearly zero in our environment. If IT isn't chasing down ransomware/phishing issues and users aren't staring at a quarantined PC, life is good.
• There are no negative impacts on ROI that I can think of.
