Brand24 vs. Union Metrics (discontinued)

Brand24 is perfect for a company that wants to build up its social media presence. It's great to know when our organization is mentioned online so I can engage with other companies. I like the mobile app but if there was a way to be notified via phone with it that would make it even better.

It's well suited for monitoring brand mentions and estimating the impact of unfortunate situations on Twitter.

• The interface of Brand24 is extremely easy to use and easy to understand for beginnings or mid-level emoloyees
• The results in Brand24 are organized clearly in buckets that you can either PDF or download the raw data
• Brand24 looks at several social platforms rather than just 1 or 2, like some other tools are limited to

• The user interface was confusing. I had to reach out to support for help, and I'm a pretty tech-savvy person to begin with. Support resolved my issue.

• Monitoring mentions beyond Twitter.
• Many issues are due to APIs, but in some cases there are restrictions on the number of terms you can track.
• Ability to set standard/saved terms (e.g. brand name) when building new trackers to save time.

I would start with Mention as opposed to beginning with Brand24. We originally used Mention but the price was increasing year-over-year so we wanted to try a cheaper alternative. We eventually did go back to Mention after Brand24, due to its ease of use and it was also easier to monitor our brand with Mention in the end.

Tweetreach is very affordable and quite flexible for what you pay for. We use it regularly as it is able to capture data not available in some of the most expensive tools we have access to.

• Ability to provide quick reports to senior executives in an easy to read format.
• Great way to track who is talking about your brand and their overall influence on Twitter.
