Comparison of Learning Management features of Product A and Product B
Since I only use BizLibrary as a source for content, I cannot speak to the program's suitability as an LMS, but it is an excellent solution for obtaining content that can be used in your own LMS. They offer a wide range of topics, the courses are just the right length, and the files never give me any issues exporting, loading into our LMS, and users rarely have trouble viewing the files. If you are looking for content to be added to your own LMS, BizLibrary is the way to go. What I know of it as an LMS, it seems like there would be content overload for a student. With so much content, it might be hard for a student to narrow down what they would like to take.
TalentLMS is user-friendly enough for someone new to LMS management can get a site up and running in a relatively quick manner. It is rather intuitive to operate. My needs have been a rather small scale of 400 learners and TalentLMS more than meets the need to produce a professional-looking and operational website to send customers and staff. The point here is that although I do not know how well it can be up-scaled, it certainly delivers for small to medium organizations to need to get content online
Content is updated regularly so we are not assigning the same modules over and over. They also archive old content but provide plenty of advance notice before the modules are no longer available.
The account representatives provide good information on marketing the application to employees and increasing usage. The tools they share save me lots of time trying to come up with a theme or idea.
The support team responds very quickly. I rarely call them, but instead send messages when a problem occurs. A resolution is received in a very short amount of time.
There is some depth lacking around very-specific technical and analytics competencies. Though I understand that not every company has the same "big data" needs as we do in our industry, the basic tools or skill set is one which is easily transferable and a value add to other roles/industries.
It would be great to see an LMS built into the BizLibrary platform !
A suggestion made recently by one of our VPs (which I agree with) was that it would be nice if there was a section of more-advanced content in areas around leadership development, conflict management, operating across boundaries... the kind of critical thinking skills people need to advance their careers from an individual contributor level into management.
It should be easier to re-send someone their initial course assignment email notification. The notification engine is a little non-intuitive.
I was trying to add a user to our account the other day (not a user - an internal employee that I wanted to give access to our system) and I had trouble finding it
The ease of use, the robustness of the offering, and familiarity. It does everything we need and probably more. We likley don't utilize all the functionality it has as it does what we want it to without having to dig that deep into its tools. Their course library also has saved us some time in terms of saving time from creating some basic courses.
The system is intuitive. It does not have a lot of features that are hidden behind secret menus or elsewhere. There are often multiple ways to get to the same place through different menus without having to go back to the home or root menu. It makes things pretty easy. Additionally, if there is something I can't figure out, there is documentation available to help with that.
When reaching out for support, BL is quick to respond. Even if they do not have a solution - such as when lessons were retired without a replacement - they are always thoughtful and informed.
The search feature alone is outstanding. When we needed technical assistance, it was provided with ease and clarity. Any representative we have worked with has been professional, knowledgeable, and good to work with, even if we were in different time zones or areas of the world.
It was so easy, the tech that worked with me and my client success rep were beyond helpful. If I had questions they responded immediately and were very instrumental in our success.
Implementation was relatively easy. When we set up a second branch, we needed a little help. But the support area is well-detailed. My clients had no experience with an LMS and their digital skills were limited. We had a long way to go. Nevertheless, it was relatively easy. It was rather quick!
We selected BizLibrary because it had the most robust system that pertained to our employee base. We have found that that has resulted in users engaging in several areas in addition to those required. The price was better that some and worse that some, but we felt that it provided the best value and that has proven to be the case.
Out of the box, Talent is easier to use than Learn Dash, which can be quite convoluted to set up, as it requires the integration and configuration of multiple plugins. As a result, we spent a lot less time getting things set up in Talent than LearnDash. Talent was also much less expensive than Litmos.
When we explained that our long-term goal was to build an award-winning learning culture at our company the team at BizLibrary embraced that vision along with us. So the return on investment is better stated as return on experience. We now have a learning library chock filled with great courses that are easy to use. This is a boon for our growing learning culture.
Our owners look at the investments that they make in the company from the perspective of "Does it make sense for our business and our team?" The investments made in the learning technology used by the learning and talent development department are no different.
We have dental practices across the United states; the TalentLMS platform helps us train out staff with one process. Standardization across 107 practice to track all of regulatory and compliance training needs.
Over the course of the last four years we have recruited internal faculty to help develop content and they find the TalentLMS platform very easy to author material.
Creating content ourselves saves a tremendous amount of money each year
