Altera Sunrise EHR vs. Epic EpicCare EMR

This is well suited for small business needs where are only a handful of users need an EHR to perform their usual tasks such as patient charting etc. Allscripts Sunrise EHR can be challenging to use sometimes because of the slow processing speed, which may test your patience and can lead to frustration.

Best for any medical clinic that is connected to a major medical center. Not good for stand-alone clinics or an EMR system in Spanish.

• Create notes and prepare medical charts for patients
• Can easily create and modify templates
• Can create addendum to the notes

• One centralized location for medical records review, retrieval, additions/updates, etc.
• User-friendly application.
• Well know in the field, therefore training is easier than with a foreign (unknown) system.

• Speed can be improved as I face lagging and freezing issues with it.
• Reviewing notes from older visits is a little tricky as it requires a lot of clicks.
• The size of the EHR screen is not well optimized with your computer screen, and hence the fonts look very small.

• Med Order simplification.
• Easy workflow.
• AI prediction.

Better integration and workflow with multidisciplinary clinics. More hospitals have EPIC. Mobile use is easy - more platforms allow us to access data.

• Best solution (charting, patient scheduling, workflow management, and many more features) for companies from 1 to 10 employees
• We have trained our staff and did not face any hiccups
• It has definitely improved our efficiency and overall productivity

• I am not up to speed on the ROI for the product.
• The product is average in terms of what it provides our organization.
