Overall Satisfaction with Zoom

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We used WebEx before switching to Zoom. I was not a part of the buying or decision making process, but I do use Zoom often as I work in our East Coast office as opposed to our CA HQ. It makes it easy to have meetings with other colleagues and prospects.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Very convenient
High quality video
Easy to schedule and set up meetings on their platform

Cons

The Zoom Rooms are extremely error prone.
We very commonly have technical difficulties.
Not sure how to even contact support.
People who aren't sitting close to the microphone are difficult to hear on the other end.

Return on Investment

I believe we saved money over WebEx but not sure.
The Zoom Rooms is a plus over WebEx which didn't have this feature, I just wish they worked well more consistently.
Helps collaboration across different offices.

Alternatives Considered

WebEx Meetings

I was not part of the decision making process but Zoom seems to be more user friendly. The Zoom Rooms are definitely a plus when they are working correctly.

Other Software Used

Microsoft Office 365, TINYpulse, Slack

Likelihood to Recommend

Zoom is well-suited for companies that have a lot of remote employees or different office locations. It's just really tough when a meeting has to get pushed because you are having technical difficulties. It's also not great for sharing screens when you want to "extend" your screen, it only allows you to duplicate.
