Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Platform

As an MSP we use Veeam Data Platform to backup and replicate our clients servers.
Some of our clients purely use Veeam Data Platform for the backup functionality whereas others make use of the full replication feature to quickly restore a server in case of a disaster.
We also find Veeam Data Platform to be our most cost effective backup solution to use for clients who can't spend a lot of money on a solution

Pros

  • Restoring files
  • Restoring servers via replication
  • Easy to use interface

Cons

  • Better notification system to alert when a backup suceeds/fails etc.
  • Make it easier to delete old backups
  • Restoring files can be very slow
  • Cost effective backup solution for clients, provides less ROI than other solutions
  • Helps us to be able to protect all of our clients
  • Selling point to clients to assure protection
Veeam Data Platform offers a different solution from other backup providers, which is replication.
We choose Veeam Data Platform for our clients who will benefit from using replication to avoid downtime and keep RTO's lower

Veeam Data Platform is well suited in an environment where replication is required. For clients who cannot afford a lot of downtime this is a huge advantage in the event of a disaster as other backup solutions would require a lot more time to perform a full VM restore in comparison to Veeam Data Platform
