Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Veeam to backup workstations and VMs to be CMMC compliant in a mixed Windows and Linux environment.

Pros

Automatically and easily making regular incremental backups

Cons

We were using Red Hat Virtualization and the support for that platform was mediocre. The plugin broke at some point and I was never able to fix it. We have since moved away from RHV

Return on Investment

We implemented Veeam in order to be CMMC compliant. I don't think we have had to restore or rely on Veeam for recovery.
Peace of mind to know it is there and trusting that it will just work

Other Software Used

VMware vCenter Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform

I would likely recommend Veeam in any enterprise production environment, especially if using VMware. I wouldn't recommend it for file backups for a large amount of files. In my opinion, the amount of instances it takes to backup files is uneconomical
