Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Veeam Backup & Replication assists us in backing up our critical IT infrastructure including the virtual machines and ESXi system. The good thing about it is that it can back up to a number of onsite and offsite including backing up our unstructured data to NAS drives and on the cloud. We have established a VPN tunnel with Meraki devices to manage the offsite backup.

Pros

Great interface and quick-to-find settings.
Amazing connectivity with cloud backups, immutable backups and NAS backups.
Capability to make Microsoft365 backups online.

Cons

Licensing could be a bit more inclusive for NAS file transfer.
Pricing for the NAS backups feels a bit extra.

Positive in the sense. We had no other option for Microsoft Windows Server backup.
The product is great, but we have not utilized it to the fullest.
Once we utilise all the features, we can get an ROI.

Where a company has an on-premises server with multiple VM, Veeam Backup & Replication can be used for backing up all the machines to be restored on the same physical hardware or on the cloud in case of any issues with the current backup. This can also comes in handy if a user wants to do Microsoft365 backups of all their emails and files.
