Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Veeam is used to back up my virtual machines running under VMware. I back up my entire enterprise with it and use it for backup and as a simple DR solution. I maintain local backups and offload them to Microsoft Azure as a cloud storage platform for the backups. I honestly do not face any challenges with the product, and it fully meets my needs and expectations.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Backs up VM's quickly and efficiently.
Excellent deduplication to reduce storage needs.
Ability to automatically have local backups upload to the cloud automatically.

Cons

Veeam really needs a single console/dashboard for Backup & Replication & M365 backup products.
Better notification of updates/patches for Backup & replication.

Likelihood to Recommend

With Microsoft Exchange, the ability to restore/recover a single mail item within a user's mailbox and full server restores are excellent Instant recovery is an excellent tool as it allows you to run a server from a backup in real-time as it restores the backup. Upon completion of the restore, it checks for any changes that took place during the restore and incorporate them into the restored server, so there is no data loss.
