Veeam Backup & Replication

Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication

We backup 7 virtual hosts and 25 Virtual machines spread across those. Each one backs up to a NAS staggered throughout the week, and then replicates to another offsite backup. We also utilize Veeam cloud backup. Veeam allows us to recover data quickly and efficiently, and protects our patient data.

Pros

  • The console is easy to use compared to other backup software
  • Easily pick and choose which virtual machines to backup
  • Scheduling the jobs is a piece of cake

Cons

  • The UI could use a dark mode (easier on the eyes)
  • Backup jobs could be a bit faster
  • Would be nice to have a web console

  • We were able to recover after a virtual server kept crashing after an update
  • We have used Veeam to recover specific files after they were deleted
  • We were able to save time and effort
Program is great for backing up virtual machines. Easy to recover files from the VM as well as restore the entire VM if necessary. The snapshot feature makes it very easy to quickly roll back to a previous version with not much downtime. Backing up workstations is also possible which makes the product great.
