We use Veeam backup and replication to take daily backups of all our virtual and physical servers at our business. We use Veeam B&R to protect all the company data by backing it up to external hard drives and also using Veeam to upload the data to online repositories as well to keep us protected in multiple ways.
Pros
- It creates quick and encapsulated backups to multiple locations
- sends alerts to you via email after backups complete so you know the outcome
- walks you through how to setup your backups easily with wizard based interfaces
Cons
- They could make it simpler to connect your online respositories
- they could give you automated ways to confirm your data is restorable
- giving alerts when you local storage locations are almost full would be nice

- Veeam taking reliable backups has had a huge ROI for us as we were hit with Ransomware 2 times now but were able to restore from it quickly, within a day, which had a huge ROI for us.
- Veeam giving us peace of mind that we are always protected has been huge for us sleeping well at night which is a great benefit for us.
- The yearly subscription model for Veeam can be a bit cost-prohibitive for some companies who might prefer a one-time payment model.
