Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication

We are using Veeam Backup & Replication at the headquarters to back up VMs, while we backup physical servers at subsidiaries using Veeam Agent for Workstations. The advantage is that we can use a single console for both types of backups. We also use the tape backup functionality to backup data quarterly.

Pros

  • Windows & Linux VM backup
  • Application items restore (Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, ...)
  • Tape backup
  • Connectivity with Veeam Agent
  • Scalability

Cons

  • None that I can think of
  • We have been able to recover invaluable data
I tested Altaro VM Backup a few years ago, but I missed the scalability and flexibility, which Veeam is offering.
The product can provide a backup solution for almost every environment.
