Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication

Veeam B&R is a great tool for use in any virtual environment that needs to be backed up.

Pros

  • Easy to install and use.
  • Intuitive UI.
  • Good support for NAS backups.
  • Tape support!

Cons

  • Only available on Windows.
  • Doesn’t support non-snapshot based backups on ESXI.
  • No web interface.
  • Has helped restore critical VMs fast!
  • Helps us keep our backup on disk and tape.
  • Great value compared to other solutions.
Veeam worked much better than the other products I tested, Naviko and Bru server.
I really recommend it for any environment that is virtual and needs to be backed up. However you must use a Windows device as the host which is a drawback for me but not a deal breaker.
