Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication
Veeam Backup & Replication version 10 is our go-to software solution for backing up our data. We use the software solution to backup data across three data centers for a healthcare company. It is an easy to learn, easy to use backup solution that won't break the bank. It has become a standard in VMware and HyperV backup.
Pros
- Backup jobs are easy to set up and maintain.
- Visually see what is happening in your backup jobs in real-time.
- Restoring whole machines or even just single files is super easy to do.
Cons
- Would like the ability to backup specific databases, not just the whole SQL server.
- I wish Veeam support would assist in setting up their product.
- I would like the ability to move servers between backup jobs and not have to run an initial backup again.
- The software itself is not as expensive as some competitors
- Restoring data quickly during an outage saves time and money
- It's allowed infrastrcucture staff to spend more time on their other day to day tasks
I used to use CommVault backup. It too is a great backup solution. I used it to protect the same infrastructure. The problem with that was that is was just too complicated. It didn't have to be like that. A backup solution shouldn't need a vendor's "university" for a user to be successful with its solution.
