Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication
Veeam is used by many of our customers primarily for VMware backups. Customers like its simplicity and ease of management.
Pros
- VMware backups are very easy to set up.
- Application-level protection from a VM level is tightly integrated and works well.
- It's easy to use and manage via a web interface or gui.
Cons
- Limited support for physical servers and products, such as Sybase and other products.
- It can be difficult to track down complex issues.
- Limited support for external storage.
- Veeam does a great job backing up VMs, and with very little management.
- The email alerts and reporting are very good and can be automated to send.
- SQL backups work well and transaction log backups are good.
Veeam is on par with Rubrik for VMware backups. It feels well put together. Veeam handles medium-sized environments exceptionally well with little to no day-to-day administration.
