Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication

[It's] Being used as a backup and replication tool for O365, VMWare, AWS. It addresses the problem of moving away from tape backup and countless hours spent during DR by accelerating the backup process.

Pros

  • Integration with multiple platforms
  • Ease of use
  • Consistent
  • Incremental backup decreases the overall time the appliance spends in backing up

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Has issues with Netapp integration and backup
  • Does not integrate with as many products
  • Helped to consolidate backup vendors to just Veeam Backup & Replication thus helping with dealing with multiple vendors and licensing thereby cutting down overall money spent
  • Ease of use helped with the on boarding process saving time
  • Integration with cloud products was a huge plus
We've always been with Veeam after moving away from Symantec tape backups.
Veeam Backup & Replication is well suited for any environments that use on-prem/cloud/SaaS. It is somewhat effective with on-prem storage.
