Overall Satisfaction with Splashtop Enterprise

It provieded an RDP solution superior to the Windows RDP and using private hardware. I used it to work from home during the Covid-19 pandemic since the latency on Windows RDP made it impossible to work properly at that time. Especially while using CAD but also for the regular office software it provided a good working experience.

Pros

  • Fast RDP Connection
  • Possibility to safely use any client computer
  • Ability to use Teams/Skype etc. remotly on the host computer without lag.
  • Good customer service

Cons

  • The remote audio feature should be included in the basic subscription
  • Remote control bar not movable or completely hidable
  • A more detailed error report if the connection is not possible. On the first setup it took some time to figure out what is blocking the application.
  • Makes it possible to work properly from home.
  • Increases productivity due to short latency.
  • Gives flexibility since you dont have to bring a dedicated device to work from home.
Customer service was perfect (fast and very helpful). They called us back instantly and helped to setup the connection. Once the software was running they even let us try out some features free of charge. Although I was only running one instance of that software on a trial basis I was very well taken care of.
Yes - Splashtop was tested to replace Windows RDP since the performance was not so good. We had servere latency issues and also random disconnects. Splashtop solved all of that and provided a fast access to my work computer. Making it possible to work from home without noticing that I was working with a remote connection.

Microsoft Office 2016 (discontinued), National Instruments LabVIEW, Microsoft Teams
Using CAD remotely without latency from a remote computer. Especially using private hardware that is usually excluded from company networks. If you already have a well setup computer at home (fast, multiple monitors...) it is a real pain if you have to fall back to just a laptop while working from home or have to rewire your whole setup.
