Overall Satisfaction with Splashtop

We use it for access to two office computers remotely from two other laptops. We use a medical software program what is local to one computer that stays mostly in the office. So myself and my biller can access that computer from home or while traveling.

Pros

  • Very sharp and clear screen mirroring.
  • Stable log in. Even while using cellular has a stable connection.
  • Very easy to use. The dashboard is simple.

Cons

  • I use a different product that allows me log into one computer from multiple computers at one time. It’s a game changer.
  • The other program allows for video chat.
  • The other program is cheaper for more functionality.
  • We were already using Splashtop before COVID, but it truly is necessary in the post COVID world. My biller went remote and is still working at home. This is essential.
  • As an owner, remote access allows me to use my laptop to work on weekends from home. I use this product every single day I work.
  • I feel like we are pretty basic users. I could see how it is critical with even more employees and computers.
  • For us it is easier to be HIPAA compliant. We do not have our medical program on the cloud - so we need to access our program on the office computer.
We never had a problem with accessing our computers and never used support in 10 years! The log in and access is very stable and consistent. The program is easy to install. Updates never caused any problems.
Yes - GoToMyPC. We had that product for years and they had a price increase. That’s when I searched around and found Splashtop.
After at least 10 years as a customer, I now use RemotePC. Splashtop changed their licensing. So for $60 per year I could only access one computer at a time. For the same $60 I can access multiple computers at a time with RemotePC. And I can access one computer from two computers at the same time.

Screen sharing to collaborate with ONE person it’s great. It’s clear and stable and easy to use.
It needs to allow for multiple computers to access one computer at the same time. I didn’t realize how helpful it was until I had the ability to do it.
I utilize both with an app, and I appreciate that.
We’re a very small business with four computers and 6 staff. Only three are full time. Our receptionists can have the biller access the computers in the office from home, and that is helpful.
