Overall Satisfaction with Red Hat OpenShift
We use Red Hat OpenShift to provide a developer platform for a diverse range of application teams across our Enterprise. It solves secure development across multiple cloud environments. Our use cases involve AWS, Azure, VMware and edge deployments, and we are also looking at whether OpenShift AI would streamline LLM development in the future.
Pros
- User interface for a range of skill levels
- Secure by default - security control contexts
- Portable across all environments we have tried
Cons
- Multi-tenant clusters - default network policies
- Challenging to automate and configure at scale
- Compatibility with teams using standard Kubernetes
- Decreased time to market
- Decreased cost savings
- Increased security posture
- Tanzu Application Platform and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)
Red Hat runs in multiple cloud and on-premise environments, so offers a portable experience in different contexts.
