Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (self-managed)

Overall Satisfaction with Red Hat OpenShift

We use the container platform, 3Scale, Fuse and Drools products. We are using it in a health insurance exchange platform to provide health benefits to the citizens.

We have done a recent application modernization using all these Red Hat products and glad that we chose Red Hat. We have a great partnership.

Pros

  • Does Kubernetes product services very well

Cons

  • Partner with consulting firms in creating a collective architecture so that we know it is going to work
  • Improved our performance by 15-20%
  • Improved our costs by 20%
  • Made our applications extremely agile

It's well suited for a container services to deploy microservices. I don't have an opinion on where it isn't well suited but Red Hat needs to compliment its products by also providing architecture and design services so that we are able to use all the services that we buy. This is my biggest issue with Red Hat and we are solving this with our partnership and hope to achieve great success.
