Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We currently use Quickbase to manage our portfolio of projects, manage research and development efforts, and we have even used it to develop an internal manufacturing and procurement system. These applications allow us to share information between departments, collaborate on projects, and to view statuses at all levels. The ease of developing within Quickbase has allowed us to develop custom tailored applications that provide immediate improvements to productivity, collaboration, and resource utilization.

Easy to develop - Good base templates for project management

Eliminates multiple spreadsheets

Cons

Mobile application is available but needs improvement
Pricing structures can be confusing if you do not have a good account representative
Must be online to access and enter data

Alternatives Considered

We reviewed multiple project management applications, and ultimately selected Quickbase due to the ease of customization for our business processes. This allows us to capitalize on our internal strengths and knowledge. Additionally the system can be used for so many different types of applications.

Likelihood to Recommend

Quickbase is an extremely powerful tool for building databases. It is more suited to this task than MS Access ever was as it is online and built for collaboration. If you are looking for a powerful enterprise level WMS or ERP you will need to develop a custom application. This may or may not suit your organization. The Quickbase partners are excellent at developing any vision that you have for the application.
