Overall Satisfaction with Prophix
Prophix is being used across the organization for budgeting, forecasting and planning. It has allowed for a much more efficient budgeting process. It also allows for easy tracking of actual/estimated cost and revenue.
Pros
- Reporting can be as detailed or as high level as desired
- Flexibility in analyzing data, setting up reports and setting up models
- Integrate different models and easily transfer data between models
- Flexibility of data entry and calculations
- Ability to drill across to easily access General ledger data
Cons
- Error messages are fairly useful, but some improvement would be nice to indicate when data is not written back to the database and why
- Pushing back department budget due dates since managers enter data directly to the database and the time to manually accumulate data is eliminated
- All users are using the same data eliminating opportunity for differing assumptions
- Prophix provided a platform to easily create reports and share data used to make decisions
- Multiple users have access to information, understand models and can analyze their own data
- Users are more self-sufficient and do not have to rely on the accounting department to obtain information
