Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I use Miro from a project strategy/planning perspective. Miro helps us address the business problem of visualizing complex data and ideas (specifically audience data) and the strategy that we would like to move forward with based on what the data is telling us. It helps us communicate complex data and ideas across three separate teams.

Pros

  • The ability for coworkers to work together simultaneously.
  • The ability to easily move/edit the working space.
  • The tagging that we can do on sticky cards.
  • The templates that Miro provides.
  • The ability to layer different working spaces.

Cons

  • The music that can be played within Miro.
  • The notification system/integration via Slack.
  • The ability to put different working spaces into folder structures.
  • Improved cross team communication.
  • Increased cross team collaboration.
  • Increased the ability to complete more complex marketing projects.
I did not help implement this product for my company.
I have integrated Miro with Slack, and it's helpful in some situations, but in others, it can become very overwhelming and distracting.
It is pivotal for our team to collaborate while we work globally. It provides people with consistency within our marketing projects and boosts the team's esteem in being able to work across multiple time zones because everyone knows where the working spaces are for projects and how to use them since it's a single source of truth, and there aren't different versions for a project (it's just one whiteboard).
I believe our company moved from Mural to Miro due to price from a corporate licensing standpoint.

I think Miro is great for those who work on strategy or within design thinking teams. It's great for brainstorming. However, I feel like it would be less appropriate for official marketing documentation, either internal or external to a company, since it's hard to layer in a company's own branding rules into Miro.
