Overall Satisfaction with Miro
We use Miro as a data capturing and analysis tool for qualitative research purposes. When we have interviews with participants, we first use the tool to transcribe verbatim, and capture notes, in a template we created upfront. We then tag each post-it with a label for a first thematic analysis, and then use the cluster by tag function to structure our data. Within the clusters we then find for overlapping themes and derive insights from them.
Pros
- Ease of note taking by using tab function
- The ability to colour code with post-its or tags
- Visually provides a glimpse of the thoroughness of the research
Cons
- Cluster by tag: I love the function but Miro often crashes
- There is no 'hard save' button, so when it crashes you have to hope it saved the real latest version
- The sentiment analysis function is not working that well, it would be nice to be able to manually review the suggestions before it the clustering
- It would be very nice if you could import a transcript easily in Miro where it then is transformed in post-its
- Show depth of the research analysis
- Improved collaboration between researchers
- Visualisation of the analysis process
Both for notetaking and the analysis we have people joining from remote locations, which works very well. The only problem sometimes is when Miro crashes and we don't know whether the latest version is saved. A hard save button would help, because then you can actively save before starting a 'heavy' task. When you would do this not remote, or physically, you would not run the same risk.
