Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro for ideation creation as well as mood boards. Since the pandemic, we've found a lot of us working from home, and Miro has helped us to retain a collaborative whiteboard environment in which ideas can quickly come together in a group setting. It has become our go-to tool to concept new ideas in groups and has been hugely beneficial for being a digital replacement for brainstorming on a whiteboard in a meeting room.

Pros

  • Collaborative Brain Storming
  • Idea organisation
  • Flow charts
  • Mood boards

Cons

  • No offline mode
  • Content isn't cached so has to be downloaded on each launch
  • Frequent logins for desktop client
  • Easy to use
  • Easy to collaborate on a single board with team members
  • No offline functionality, so when there is maintenance there's no access
It's a cloud-based web app where the desktop application is just a web browser wrapper for their application. This means there's no offline storage of Miro boards as well as no caching of content on Miro boards. Opening up any boards within the desktop app results in all content being redownloaded which can be quite slow.
Working together is seamless once you've invited your colleagues to join your Miro board. The only issue is that it's difficult to quickly share a board exclusively with a team. Every time we make new boards, there's a fumble where we're trying to get all our team members added in.
Miro has allowed us to retain the benefits of brainstorming in front of a whiteboard within a completely digital setting. It's been fantastic with our remote workers and has been instrumental in letting mixed teams concept both small and large ideas in a single shared workspace that's easily accessible by the team.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

The tool is fantastic for being a digital whiteboard within our team and has allowed us to rapidly brainstorm ideas remotely. It's also worked fantastically for other departments on the team when working independently, as it can be used to easily concept flow charts, mood boards, and more. It starts to become less appropriate when you want to get more in-depth with your concepting. It's great for the initial idea phase, but as you start to lock ideas in more, you then transition to other programs that are more suited for those individual tasks.
