Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Miro is used for us for project and program mapping as well as RACI development. It is used to provide different views of process steps to better streamline for different stakeholders.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Create linkages
Easily differentiate various functions
Navigate a large workstream in manageable chunks

Cons

A larger cache would be useful, as the program moves very slowly when it gets very large
A floating legend would help me remember the different icons
A quick PDF snapshot function could help to work on paper copies in a legible format

Improved visibility
Increased knowledge of scope of work for key tasks
Illustrated need to collaborate frequently

Ease of Integration

There is some learning curve in manipulation, especially around moving around a large map quickly without unintentionally editing or moving things.

It has become a focal point of stakeholder conversation by demonstrating prerequisite activities and their impacts on the timeline.

Our specific scenario started out as a swimlane mapping; after some manipulation it became a multi-tiered moving timeline of keystone events that make or break project readiness and eventual manufacture. The ease of moving items around after discussion as well as quickly connecting contingent or prerequisite datapoints gave a roadmap not previously realized for the processes involved with successful manufacture.
