Overall Satisfaction with Jamf Pro
We use Jamf to manage all our Macs and after setup it's quite painless. Just recently used it to deploy an all Mac lab with very specific audio software that had some licensing challenges, Jamf was able to run my scripts and fix all the licensing errors vs. having to run them manually. All our Macs have the same baseline like all our Windows machines so we can give the same experience to each user every time!
Pros
- Ensures all my apps are deployed
- Once you give over the first learning hill and the concepts of where things are at to do things, its all really easy to pick up
- Prevents users from ruining their Mac
Cons
- The forced paid training, while I get why it's still a pain.
- Better device-enrolled management - drop the requirement for the user to approve management.
- Better logging of why policies or configuration profiles fail to deploy
- NEED to be able to manually redeploy configuration profiles to SINGLE Macs without having to redeploy to the whole group after a failure
- Postive-ish, I spent a long time to get Jamf up and running
- Mac users dont complain as much about their dumb printers.
Munki. Didn't want to have to deploy a ton of open tools and lots of code to get it up and going.
