Overall Satisfaction with Google Drive

Department use - used as a backup to Office 365 for mission-critical docs and spreadsheet applications. This helps us to address the business need to have redundant cloud-based file storage in a well managed and robust environment.

Pros

  • Seamless, it just works.
  • Highly reliable.
  • Good cross integration of Sheets with Excel, just upload and go!
  • Intuitive interface and plenty of options on access/permissions visibility.

Cons

  • A few niggling differences between Office and Google platforms that take a while to get used to...but hardly a deal breaker!
  • There were elements of the ITSecurity that took our team a while to get comfortable with, but once there we were sure it was robust.
  • Hard to quantify ROI, but having a super reliable backup is priceless in an emergency.
We use Teams/O365 in preference, but I think it was a close call and we continue to use Google Drive as a backup for mission-critical items.
I've never had to use it, which is probably a good example of how well put together Google Drive is.

Google Drive is well suited for businesses with flexible needs who just need something that "works" out of the box. Tight integration with other Google products like Hangouts and Gmail.
