Overall Satisfaction with DigitalPersona Altus

We needed a secure two-factor authentication solution that also didn't inhibit users access. We found that using DigitalPersona to allowed for two-factor authentication access to our corporate resources, while giving my users easy access to their desktops.

Pros

  • Speed of fingerprint recognition.
  • Ease of use for end users.
  • Multiple factors can be utilized for even the most secure needs.

Cons

  • Doesn't always recognize laptop fingerprint readers.
  • You constantly need to stay current especially if you are moving to Windows 8+.
  • Love to be able to unlock my laptop via iPhone proximity and Bluetooth.
  • Better security access security controls
  • Less time typing cumbersome passwords
After vetting a few solutions we found DigitalPersona to be the most comprehensive and cost effective.
It works well in financial and healthcare scenarios. It becomes harder in a BYOD environment or high turnover as they enrollment process must have someone on staff trained.
