Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst Switches

They are very robust and versatile switches with extensive security features. I have helped solve access layer connectivity problems, also prevented the spoofing of Mac addresses and IP addresses.

Pros

  • ARP spoofing.
  • IP spoofing.
  • Storm control.
  • Manage rapid per VLAN spanning tree.
  • Use of TACACS and radius.

Cons

  • Managing storm of broadcast through storm control.
  • Positive ROI due to its robust handling of packages.
  • Also because it allowed us to implement VoIP.

It allows for the handling of traffic and high capacity such as voice, video, and data in a combined way without lack or loss of packages. This is a good option when purchasing network equipment.
Containment of broadcast storm.
Use of IP DHCP snooping.
