Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst Switches

We are using Cisco 3850 catalyst switch in a cascade for our voice servers. They act as a L2 switch and connect to our core switches.

Pros

  • Since we use them in a stack, they offer HA
  • The failover to the secondary switch is immediate in case of primary going down

Cons

  • I don't have any cons for these switches
  • Since we are running highly critical voice servers, we wanted a highly robust switches for network connectivity for our services. Our choice of a 3850 has given a high uptime of network services which in turn has increased the ROI
They are well suited as a L2 switch in a stack. Until now we do not have incidents of the switch going down. They are very robust.
