Overall Satisfaction with Articulate 360

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

As the IP Manager of my company I am in charge of creating content used by our company to teach our clients our IP. We create learning designed for web, LMS, and Mobile and use Storyline360 for all of it.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Ease of use, albeit there is a learning curve
Publishing content faster than coding
the updated right panel better showing the slide logic

Cons

The logic is restrictive at times, coming from a coding background
Our courses can get long and have many states for images and text, making some state changes can cause Storyline to crash. Assuming its a memory issue as closing the problem out when it starts to slow does speed things up a bit, for a little while.

Return on Investment

We have been able to scale our education to a broader audience
we were able to pivot content during the pandemic to retain clients as ILT was not possible.
We can quickly update old content after rebuilt in Storyline to make adjustments when the science changes and save money when we need to repackage our content to different environments.
Lastly, while not done in Storyline, we are able to add language assets to allow for fewer courses and less "curriculum" to our clients and make their management easier for us and our clients

Comprehensive Platform

To be honest, Rise is its current form is too restrictive for our use case. The AI assistant is still a little limited for our needs but we are hopeful. We exclusively use storyline and share content in our test environment LMS

Integrated AI

We are not using the AI assistant as the functions do not currently meet our needs.

Usability

Regardless of the tools we don't use, they do exist and if any of them were needed we would glady use them. Our topics are so specific, e.g. Body mechanics, kinesiology, that generic assets do not capture what we need to convey.

Alternatives Considered

Adobe Captivate

Storyline was recommended by more of our clients some trusted them at the beginning.

Likelihood to Recommend

Creating refresher training, pinpointing topics, and avoiding death by PowerPoint. Using Storyline to get a better understanding how our clients learn and how our users think as we update and refine our product.

For us, we teach a lot of demonstrations where we ask people to stand, we hit a wall with this in storyline, but this is a behavior challenge as people will make different decisions if they are in a classroom rather than Infront of a computer/device.
