Overall Satisfaction with Anaplan
We use Anaplan to solve different Financial planning challenges. In addition for the sales organization we have compensation planning and calculations running on Anaplan[.]
Pros
- Implementation
- Flexibility
- Powerful Calculation Engine
- Easy to maintain and develop
Cons
- Support
- Business model / licensing
- Self service development
- Real time calculations
- Good reporting capabilities
- Connecting planning processes
- Time to calculate sales commissions 3 weeks to 3 days with less errors and more flexibility
- Significant improvements in forecast accuracy, speed and transparency
I feel that Anaplan really has no competition when it comes to implementing connected planning. The biggest reason being that with other solutions, you need consultants to develop. If you know how to develop in Excel and understand the concept of dimensions, then you can develop in Anaplan. This means that you can maintain and develop Anaplan in-house. This results in an up-to-date platform. When you have to use consultants to do even the smallest changes, your system will turn into a data entry form very fast.

I wouldn´t
Anaplan Implementation
- Implemented in-house
Yes - We had four sprints. All had a set of functionalities that were ready to test after each sprint.
Change management was a big part of the implementation and was well-handled - It´s very important to let the project team decide almost everything that goes into the model. When the end-users can decide, they will want to use the finished product. They will also promote the solution around the organization.
