Adobe Acrobat in the Library
Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat
We have a lot of forms that are PDF that we need to fill out or to send out for others to fill. Some of the forms that are use are for gathering data but we also have forms for our purchase orders and things. I also need to convert PDFs to images or Word Documents, edit PDFs and also break up PDFs into smaller/single pages.
Pros
- Converting PDFs to other types of documents
- Editing/filling in PDFs
- Sharing PDFs
Cons
- It would be nice if the "full" Adobe Acrobat were made free for educators and students to use
- More features for editing PDFs
- It would be good if the web based app/extension for students would have more of the full functions.
- More use of old PDFs
- More efficient forms
- Some difficulty in learning how to use the editing functions. Some editing functions do not work as expected
- Ease of Use
It's important for tools to be easy to use because of the range of skill/ability with the teachers/staff who are using the tool, especially with tech tools.
Adobe Acrobat has more functions that a lot of the PDF converters and editors that are web based. It's also easier to use than the Microsoft one.
