Takes Screenshots to the Next Level!

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Most of my coworkers work remotely, and CloudApp is great when I need to show them something. All I need to do is to take a screenshot of my desktop, and forward them the link in Slack or email. I can even crop the image, highlight a portion of it, or make arrows pointing to an important item. However, often I will be automatically logged out of the program, making it much slower to access.

Pros

  • Cropping the images: allows what I need people to focus on be front and center
  • Arrows: I almost always point to something important that needs to be highlighted
  • The Chrome extension makes CloudApp easily accessible. All I have to do is just click on the extension, and I'm there.

Cons

  • Automatic log out: this issue is newer. Any time I wish to use the app, I have to spend time to log back in. This can be time consuming, especially when I'm in a hurry, and just want to take a quick screenshot
  • Can no longer use my keyboard shortcut: I used to be able to just hit print screen on my keyboard, and then take a screenshot; this was my favorite way to use the CloudApp, and now I'm not able to do so.
  • The Downloaded desktop app: I have had to download the desktop app shortcut several times, because after I'm logged out, it stops working. I have since stopped using this option; it doesn't work.

Likelihood to Recommend

I appreciate when I can take screenshots, and send them to coworkers. When I need to illustrate when something is not working properly, I can easily take a screenshot of the error message, and send it off to IT. This way they are able to resolve the issue much sooner. I will receive website leads, take a screenshot of the lead, and forward it on to the sales team.

Rather use loom over CloudApp

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

CloudApp was used to share screen recordings or screenshots with product and development to address bugs. Whenever we would see an issue with our platform then we would record via cloudApp and send it to the appropriate department. Sometimes we would use it for training as well in terms of process changes etc.

Pros

  • Recording
  • Screenshotting
  • Sharing

Cons

  • UI design.
  • Ease of use.

Likelihood to Recommend

CloudApp is good for sharing product and development bugs that can be seen by a team.

CloudApp for Customer Support

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our Support Team uses CloudApp to take GIFs, videos, and screenshots to send to our clients and to use in our knowledge base articles. Sometimes providing steps along with images or a short video is an easier way of explaining how to accomplish something within our product.

Pros

  • CloudApp makes taking GIFs, videos, and screenshots very quick and easy. Very little training was required for CloudApp because it is a straight forward tool.
  • We love the feature that allows you to annotate images and videos to highlight certain areas. This is especially important in Support when explaining something to a customer.
  • I like that CloudApp makes sharing files very easy. In just the click of a button, you can choose how you'd like to share a file with someone else.

Cons

  • The one thing I can think of is making it easier to save images, videos, and GIFs to your desktop. This requires a few extra steps and it's typically easiest for me to pull an image directly from my desktop into an email or knowledge base article.

Likelihood to Recommend

If you need to take screenshots or videos frequently and need a better way to store and share these then CloudApp is for you.

Designers + Developers Unite!

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I’ve been using CloudApp for personal and professional use for many years. As most of my work relates to translating web designs into dynamic web pages, screenshots are an easy way to share progress or issues I see in a super easy and quick way. Using the default key commands for Mac screenshots, CloudApp creates a hyperlink instantly to share. Has my coworker or client viewed the screenshot yet? CloudApp lets me know. Need to demonstrate a broken form page via screen recording? CloudApp helps with that too! Best part is doing quick markup of arrows or text to point to exactly what I’m talking about. CloudApp solves many moments that could lead to miscommunication. I will continue using this app as long as I’m working on a computer!

Pros

  • Easy to use.
  • Features that benefit my daily work.
  • Learning curve is almost non-existent.
  • Don’t need an account to view links.

Cons

  • Text with outlines are hard to read.
  • View count for an item counts my views, would prefer it omits my views.
  • Limit for free monthly screenshots could be a little higher - but is generous enough for my use.

Likelihood to Recommend

A bug on a web page can be easily captured with the screen recorder.

Great app, outstanding compared to others.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We all use CloudApp. We have an Enterprise account and we're all added there. We're all remote workers located all around the globe, so having a tool to share screenshots, gifs, screen recordings and all with a simple link is essential.

Pros

  • Uploads really fast
  • Share Gifs and screen recording, with camera and sound.
  • Edit screenshots (this is awesome)

Cons

  • Some uploads fail and they're not automatically re-uploaded

Likelihood to Recommend

it's well suited to share screenshots from the computer, but not from the phone. It'd be great (now that we can't have shared clipboard between mac and iPhone) if you can have an iOS application to take a screenshot, upload it to the app and get the link just there, and use it in the mac.

Cloud App :D

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Cloud app has been great for us. There are a lot of cool features that we haven't seen other screen recording or shots. Some things I would like to see is making it more simple to navigate between screens while recording and also being able to choose if we would like to copy the content or have the link.

Pros

  • Features to blur content
  • A quick link generated with videos/images

Cons

  • More integrations
  • Being able to navigate between screens while recording
  • Being able to choose with each image whether you want to copy the direct content or generate a link.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is great for troubleshooting and bugs internally or communicating/training videos for customers. I think it might be less effective for a company or position that doesn't deal with these things.

CloudApp saves me and my client's time.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

CloudApp is something that we use throughout the organization. It is most often used by me to provide help to our clients. Showing them how to complete something on their site. It's much easier to show them than trying to explain it through an email or over the phone.

We also use this to show our engineering team how we replicate a bug which has been a great help.

Pros

  • CloudApp in general is a great idea. Being able to show something happen provides much more than telling someone how to do the same thing with words.
  • CloudApp being cloud based has allowed us to share videos with our engineering team much more often. Being limited in file size requirements has prevented us from sharing videos in the past. With CloudApp we simply get a link that takes them directly to the video, no uploading required.
  • Being able to annotate screenshots has proven very useful as well. Having the ability to add arrows and text to point out a specific point in the screenshot helps our clients understand what we're looking at.

Cons

  • I'd like to be able to edit a video. Often times I will get lost in my own words when recording. While there is a Pause button, it would be helpful to be able to trim small sections out where I may have tripped over my words.

CloudApp has been very useful for us. We had used a competitor in the past, however we ran into some compatibility issues with our OS X Products. We ended up leaving to go with CloudApp and everything has been great. I've tried pretty hard to come up with something negative around the product and I just can't find anything. It's great for what I need it for.
