We used Zerto for disaster recovery and it is very easy to use. The fail over process is easy as well as the fail back process. Very busy SQL servers can sometimes will be a difficult to keep in sync, but following Zerto's best practice guide will help with these issues.
Pros
Disaster recovery
Ransomware protection
One to many replication
Cons
Tier 1 support is not great
Expensive
Limitations migrating back from managed disks

Zerto well suited as an Azure disaster recovery solution. The off site clone feature is fantastic for point in time backups. Great solution for replicating to the cloud. I would say Zerto is not a great solution for small and medium business as it does take some technical knowledge to manage and is expensive at small scales.
High-value virtual servers are replicated from our primary production data center to our secondary fail-over data center. In effect, this represents the core of our disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Other, legacy backup and restore solutions were too slow to restore, and [the] speed of restore is among the most important features for our environment.
Pros
Speed of recovery
Reduction of RPO
Ease of use
Cons
Dependence on virtual protection groups
Release of updates to align with VMware releases
Product documentation could be improved

For direct failover between data centers, this product excels. Of course, connectivity between data centers is at a premium and the product doesn't fare well with excessive latency. For metro area failover, it's ideal, for a longer, continental distance, the latency would probably be too much. Also, the rate of data change is key: a very high rate of data change is challenging, even with this product.
We use Zerto for disaster recovery and site replication between our primary and DR datacenters. We are able to recover our virtual servers in near real-time from a failure or disaster event. Zerto helps us meet audit and regulatory needs in the banking industry for backup/recovery of our datacenters.
Pros
Site to Site replication
Near real-time replication and recovery from point in time
Faster RPO & RTOs
Easy to use, can restore a virtual machine with a few mouse clicks
Easy DR testing
Cons
Expensive licensing cost
Language barrier depending on which support tech you receive.

Zerto is well suited for disaster recovery and virtual machine replication between multiple data centers. DR testing for audit or regulations is much easier with Zerto, great reporting, dashboard etc. It is not well suited for physical server replication for disaster recovery or as a primary backup solution.
We use Zerto for real-time replication of our production Hyper V virtual environment. It is a crucial part of our disaster recovery protection.
Pros
Realtime replication
Fast recovery
Platform to platform conversation of virtual machines
Easy file level recovery
Cons
The GUI could be a little more intuitive.
[I would appreciate] being able to call local scripts on virtual machines.
[I would like] better/more customizable reporting.
Likelihood to Recommend
If you need to keep your RPO and RTO down to seconds/minutes then Zerto is an amazing solution for this. It also allows for long-term retention and file-level recovery as well. It also has an amazing feature where it allows for Hyper V to VMware conversation in a fail-over scenario.

Our company has been using Zerto successfully for a little over 6 years. Zerto is used to backup VMs hosting our own developed secure customer application that is kept in a secure colocation and also to replicate the application programs and data to another DR site located at a diverse location for redundancy.
Pros
The single web interface provides an immediate view of the environment.
Zerto moves the server images from one colocation to another efficiently.
Zerto provides an intuitive interface for restoring information.
It provides for good alerting for offline VMs not being replicated.
Cons
Pricing and discounts are an issue for me.
Configuration settings should be adjusted to be more global.
Online support is their preference, a live body sometimes is very beneficial.

Zerto is very well suited for the consolidation of data centers and/or replicating data between remote sites for disaster recovery. Zerto is also positioned to be another key IT asset in an organization that has minimal resources dedicated to [supporting] backup recovery and continuity of processing of information technology.
Shortly after starting at my company the CTO called a meeting with all of IT and told us that the company had not passed DR testing in 3 years and that if we didn't pass this year, a finding would be posted with the SEC and stay there for years. IT had little understanding of a couple of our applications at the time, and this had caused recovery testing failures. After looking at the market we decided to try Zerto. This almost magically allowed us to pass ALL of our Critical systems that year, and we have not had a single failure in 6 years now. The CTO later told me that he didn't believe Zerto would do what was promised and that had it not, it would have been a resume-generating event for me. I can't say enough how amazing and easy to implement Zerto is compared to the other DR solutions I've attempted to use [throughout] my 22 years in IT. You will be shocked and appalled when you see how easy this makes your DR testing and system migrations!
Pros
DR testing and recovery
System datacenter migration
Backup recoveries
Cons
Our greatest difficulty is that while Zerto allows you to assign new static IPs for failover and testing uniquely, it does not support updated DNS entries, this is useful in testing as the Names servers in a test environment are not usually available.

Do you have a system at a branch office you wish was in the data center, but shutting it down to move it would take too long? Use Zerto, downtime can be cut down to about 10 minutes since it seeds the system at the target. Have an application that you can't afford to lose? Zerto can replicate it in near real-time, we had a system we hadn't backed up yet, and I buggered it, luckily I had put it in Zerto, Failed it over to the target datacenter using a snapshot from before I did the stupid thing and it came back up happy as can be! Want to move resources to or from the cloud? Check out Zerto.

Zerto has provided us with an RPO that no other product could provide. We use it for backup and DR for our most critical systems that require next to zero data loss. Zerto provides great built-in tools to test recovery without disrupting protection and every year we use it to test DR recovery.
Pros
Next to zero data loss between protected server and recovery site.
Testing recovery.
Works great with cloud solutions.
Cons
Maybe more detail on what it's doing during the progress bar.
Better clarification on testing or recovering only one server in a VGP.
Likelihood to Recommend
In situations where backups or recovery requires next to zero data loss. While zero is almost impossible, Zerto provides the closest to zero I have been able to find.

My organization is currently using Zerto for our offsite DR location. We previously used CloudEndure which was purchased by AWS and lost its support expertise. Zerto is used for replicating critical servers to our cloud location for quick recovery.
Pros
Support is quick to respond.
Providing metrics for RTO.
Quick Recovery times.
The license model is one time price with annual support.
Cons
Zerto did not have quick recovery times to AWS so I needed to move our DR location from AWS to Azure.

Zerto is great for recovering VM's from onsite to cloud resources. While pointing Zerto to the cloud we can leverage the scalability of the cloud to increase the speed of the recovery by adding additional resources. Zerto also includes training and labs as part of their offering which allows owners to test configs without breaking a production environment.

We use Zerto primarily as a DR/Replication engine, to frequently snapshot and replicate VMWare VM's between sites. Zerto is also very useful in that it allows easy 'rollback', e.g. if something happens unexpectedly and we don't have an easy/current/fresh snapshot to roll back to, and/or on occasion, if we're not certain where/when a bust occurred, we can spin up several instances/iterations of past machine states for analysis.
Pros
Site to Site Replication.
Recovery of VM's from recent timepoints.
Modification of replicated VM's to different sites.
IP, and/or other site specific, post replication/recovery modifications.
Cons
The GUI could potentially benefit from a standalone option, vs VCenter Plugin.
The VRA's which are placed on Hosts are pretty 'black box' ... visibility into their activity/behavior could prove useful.
Likelihood to Recommend
Site-to-site replication is extremely useful, and once failed over to a different site, reversing the protection and replication back to the original site is extremely easy, intuitive, and useful. It's not so much a traditional backup system, e.g. not something that would compete w/ Commvault et.al for traditional file/folder backup/recovery, and/or comparison of past file/folder sets to target certain changes/versions/etc.
