This product assessment is based on a synthesis of 6 recent reviews of Workday Adaptive Planning, examining overall satisfaction, areas for improvement, ROI, and impact on business processes. A significant benefit reported by users is its ability to facilitate real-time budget changes and understand financial impacts immediately; 5 of 6 reviewers cited budgeting and forecasting as a core use case. The software also supports data and reporting, with 3 reviewers highlighting its ability to generate reports with minimal manual intervention, streamlining yearly budget processes. Users also value the platform's ability to act as a single source of truth, centralizing input sheets and updating reports in real-time as data is entered, impacting the budgeting process positively for 3 of 6 reviewers. Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Adaptive to report our financial results each month. It is primarily used by finance but each department has at least one user who can access the results for their respective teams. We are now able to report on our financial results much quicker because of our use of Adaptive Insights. It also enables the business to track and manage their own expenses.

Pros

  • Adaptive is very easy to use for all types of users. This enables wide spread adoption.
  • With the use of OfficeConnect, Adaptive allows for a much quicker close reporting. We are able to provide very detailed reports within 24 hours of accounting close.
  • Adaptive makes researching and managing spend much easier. The business is easily able to access their spend transactions on their own without having to disrupt the finance or accounting teams.

Cons

  • I wish it were easy to create dashboards within the tool.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is great to help scale financial management practices throughout an organization.

Adaptive is an excellent budgeting and forecasting application

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Adaptive for company-wide budgeting, planning, rolling forecasting and monthly reporting.

Pros

  • Version over version comparisons are easily accomplished with Adaptive.
  • Adaptive is very flexible and can be customized to almost any business or use case.
  • Very good at waterfalling ratable revenue and for use in headcount planning and capacity planning.

Cons

  • The most important improvement that was required was the reporting interface. Now that the Excel plugin will launch soon, hopefully report templates and export to Excel will be more user friendly.

Likelihood to Recommend

The most important thing to understand is the level of commitment you will need to make during the implementation process to make the implementation successful. Also it is helpful to talk to someone in your industry that is already using Adaptive Insights to see what business specific issues they've run into.

Adaptive: A diamond in the rough

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In my organization Adaptive Insights is being used for building various reports and as a method of providing easier access to detailed reports. Adaptive is currently being used across the whole organization by multiple managers. One great benefit of Adaptive is that it provides different levels of access. A marketing department manager cannot see the reports of a manager in the R & D department. Access levels can also be broken down into various criteria.

Pros

  • Perform accurate calculations
  • Roll out amounts to GL codes without issue
  • Provides an easier way to manage user access
  • Allows users to create test areas to run different scenarios before implementation

Cons

  • Not a lot of tutorial videos on how to perform actions.
  • Digging and sorting through manuals can be time consuming.

Likelihood to Recommend

Adaptive Insights is well suited for mid-sized to larger companies especially those that are spread out geographically. It provides one platform on which managers can collaborate and plan. Adaptive Insights is less suited for small companies in one location.
