I originally used WordStream because I was invited to one of their events at Google's HQ in Chicago and it was informational and exciting. The tool seemed extremely efficient in managing intelligent decisions for Search Engine Optimization and for Paid Per Click campaigns for Google and Bing. It provided excellent suggestions to optimize our ad spend and bid competitively within our PPC/SEM approach.
Pros
The software was very user friendly.
We utilized a premium membership to secure monthly support and their team was so kind and supportive!
It was nice to have all of our ad campaigns within one tool versus managing Bing and Google separately.
The monthly reports were AWESOME to present to clients and leadership!
Cons
This is definitely not for a beginner and require knowledge on how PPC/SEM campaigns are run unless you purchase the premium support package that includes a dedicated representative to which they are very helpful.
We had some serious tracking issues and were unable to effectively track the clicks to our website. Because of this, I had to start from scratch and decided not to use WordStream.

I sincerely loved working with the team at WordStream. The speakers at their events are extremely knowledgable and filled with personality which made working through the issues more of a treat than a disaster. This is a great tool if you have the budget to put into your campaigns and you set everything up appropriately from the get-go. When I started using the solution, I was NOT knowledgable on paid approaches and may have done more harm than good.
WordStream has been implemented within our company to help us saved time and money using the Google AdWords platform.
Pros
Reporting. I am able to pull detailed analytical reports with ease. This helps when trying to really dig deep and analyze how my account is performing.
Set/Manage budgets. I don't even have to log in to Adwords anymore! I can integrate it with the WordStream platform, set budgets, and leave it to run. This is powerful and saves so much time!
Amazing customer support. Any time I have a question, they answer it within the day and are always friendly and able to help.
Cons
UX Design. Their design isn't bad, but they could definitely improve and make things a little more attractive for the end-user.
Connecting with your Google account. I felt this process was a little complicated and I wish they made it a one or two-click process to connect the accounts.
Onboarding. I feel every client should have a personal rep helping onboard them. Maybe others had this, but I did not. I still love the platform, but it would have been faster to learn if they had an onboarding rep.

Do you currently use Google Adwords to drive new business for your website? Then you need WordStream. The best scenario where it has helped me is time. I used to spend easily 20 hours a week analyzing data, making minor changes, adjusting budgets, trying to just master Google Adwords! But now I'm able to spend maybe 2-3 hours a week on Google AdWords and put the rest of my attention on other responsibilities. WordStream has mastered making my time more efficient.
The Paid Search team uses WordStream Advisor. It simplifies the process of reviewing our paid search accounts by analyzing campaigns and making recommendations. It also generates a monthly report that covers overall performance, and we share this with the account management team and with the client. We have weekly and biweekly reviews where we look over each account, and WordStream Advisor saves us a lot of time in this process.
Pros
Great recommendations for keywords and ad optimizations that we often implement.
Monthly report provides important details on the health of each account.
Cons
The new Strategy feature has potential but hasn't offered much insight at this point.
Some reportedly "underperforming" ads and keywords are not doing as bad as the system says.

WordStream Advisor is the perfect platform for agencies managing a large number of paid media accounts. While we mostly use it for Google Ads accounts, it can also be used for Facebook, Bing, and other paid platforms. With a large number of accounts, it can become time-consuming going through each one to review performance. WordStream Advisor makes that process much more manageable.

WordStream is used by our SEM department to make sure the quality of work in our PPC recurs better along with cutting the time spent on them in half. WordStream simplifies PPC by addressing the issue your account has and guiding you to make the necessary changes to your accounts for the best ROI, CTR and so much more.
Pros
It breaks down Google Ads and simplifies it.
It addresses issues with your accounts and guides you to make beneficial changes.
Cons
When updating ads sometimes it doesn't have suggestions and just lists that there is an issue with the ad.
The functionality of creating new ads gets kind of confusing and I'd prefer to do that within Google.

WordStream is well suited for PPC analysts who have a large quantity of accounts that need tending to weekly. Their software cuts our time in half when working on an assignment. One of my favorite features is the monthly reports it provides that gives detailed analysis of the past month and easy-to-read graphs.
We are using WordStream to have a better handle and management of our Google AdWords account.
They advised us on what we were doing right, what we were doing wrong and ways to improve our metrics and CTRs. It has helped us define how to use our budget more effectively and the educational side was just great when it came to understanding how to set negatives and other aspects that Google isn't always clear about.
Pros
Explaining Google AdWords.
Showing examples and metrics.
Keyword analysis tools.
Cons
Not all Google AdWord settings can be managed through WordStream.
How to effectively set bid amounts.

I'm still new to using WordStream so I'm still learning.
I like the 20 minute work week area where the system is showing me potential issues and suggestions to better enhance my AdWords experience.
Great for anyone using AdWords since Google is always changing how things work in terms of keywords, ranking, budgets, etc.
We use WordStream to streamline our pay-per-click management for a variety of clients as well as ourselves. It helps us to stay on top of all pay-per-click advertising campaigns across Facebook, Bing, and Google Ads. It helps us to also limit the number of hours we spend on it while actually improving performance.
Pros
20 minute work week
Insights into campaigns
Ease of use
One place to manage all our campaigns on different platforms
Cons
It is not a cheap software

I was actually skeptical before trying out WordStream, but the software has been great to work with and the staff at WordStream are committed to our success. It has cut down on our manual hours and also improved the performance of our campaigns across all our clients and campaigns. Highly recommend.
I use WordSteam to better manage and optimize our SEM campaigns. Since the tool is meant to primarily improve the efficiency of SEM managers it is not being utilized broadly across our organization. The tool enables me to quickly identify areas in our paid search accounts that need to be optimized (bids, keywords, ads, etc) and improve them on the spot.
Pros
Remove duplicates: The platform has a tool that enables marketers to easily identify duplicate keywords across campaigns, ad groups, and the account; from there duplicates can be paused in an effort to improve quality scores and account performance.
Bid management: WordStream reveals which current keywords can improve campaign performance by increasing and decreasing their bids - updates can be made on the spot.
Ad optimizations: WordStream scans paid search accounts to ensure each ad group is using high performing ads. Marketers can quickly create new ads, and pause ads based on the tool's recommendations.
Cons
Keyword URL updates: There isn't an easy way to add new keywords to the account and add custom keyword level "final URLs" to each keyword (this is important for Marketers who use custom tracking parameters at the keyword level).
Ad extensions: WordSteam provides recommendations on how to improve some ad extensions; however, Google's newer ad extensions (Structured Snippets) are not supported by the tool.
Integrations: Currently, WordStream only integrates with AdWords, Bing, and Facebook - the tool would provide much more value if it integrated with more platforms.

WordStream is designed for marketers who manage paid search accounts. It helps save time, increases efficiency, and if used properly it can improve performance.
WorkStream would be of little value to anyone who doesn't manage paid search accounts.
We started using Wordstream to manage our Google AdWords account.
Pros
Simple reports
Cons
It did not add any value to our AdWords management.

If you are willing to learn about AdWords principal, you won't need to use other software to manage your AdWords. Wordstream has a few advantages in terms of modifying your campaigns, but you need to remember that you still need to know the basics and fundamental of AdWords.
We use WordStream to manage our multiple client's adwords accounts. What we find best with WordStream is that we can both push and pull settings, insights, etc. to adwords and pull from adwords. The benching and recommendations of keywords helps us optimize our clients campaigns. Another feature we enjoy is the reporting. This helps us provide detailed reports to clients.
Pros
Organization
Ease of Use
Customer Service
Cons
Lack of Analytics
No retargeting integration
No IP retargeting integration
Price structure
Likelihood to Recommend
It is well suited for managing multiple clients. We find the breakdown for our various clients to provide well organized reports which allows us to generate our own reports. Benching of keywords allows us to keep keywords in our list while not specifically advertising that keyword. This feature also helps us gain perspective on our other keywords.
We are a multi-location agency that manages $750K annual spend in AdWords. We compared to Adwords Editor and Kenshoo and chose WordStream because it provided the best feedback about the quality of the campaigns and analyzes each account for performance, comparable spend across the industry and best practices. It offers an easy to use and visually appealing layout with a "20-minute" work week checklist.
Pros
Simple interface that makes suggestions for increasing performance, organizing ad groups and analyzing campaigns for AdWords, Bing and Facebook Ads
Excellent staff and consulting team that provides webinars, individual consultations and training, blogs, best practices and changes to marketing platforms
Awesome reports that are customizable and easy to read, very visual and interactive
Monitors spend, keyword performance, quality scores, ad CTR, use of ad extensions and many other factors to managing PPC
Cons
They are rolling out new updates, but currently don't have a search function which makes it slower to find and access accounts
There are some sections that are still on an old layout and those pages are harder to navigate because you have to scroll to the right and can't see the whole screen at once
Some suggestions are not good at first, but by marking the reason for rejecting a suggestion the interface adapts and "learns"
Likelihood to Recommend
Good for clients that want creative and quality focused insight, helpful in adhering to "best practices", easy to copy and paste across ad groups or campaigns.
A few settings are tricky or hidden, but mostly an easier interface that is intuitive.
Can't take suggestions at face value and could really mess up a campaign of you follow advice blindly.
No spend management like that which Kenshoo offers
