Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are handling large-scale traffic from Google when it spikes. We have extensive social media profiles on Facebook and get much traffic from Google News and Discovery. This means that traffic can be very unpredictable, and we need to make sure that our servers "just work" when there is a spike in traffic. Any downtime is lost revenue literally by the second. WPVIP ensures everything is running, no matter the traffic volume, and running/loading fast!!

Pros

Fast support when there are issues.
They always want you to be happy.
Scale is not an issue for traffic, it just works.

Cons

I wish there were insights on making our website use fewer resources and performance recommendations for my web developers.

Likelihood to Recommend

For websites that get a large number of concurrent visitors and have the potential for traffic spikes from Google or social media, WordPress VIP "just works" and is reliable!

- We use VIP to host certain content that is super performant and handles our social marketing use cases.
- It is easy to work with when we are coordinating with 3rd parties to create and publish certain content.
- Configurable and easy to collaborate

Pros

Core use case, host content and deliver performance pages

Cons

Too many different dashboard formats
Everything should have the same look and feel.
The admin portal looks different than the user content portal

Likelihood to Recommend

Well suited:
- Smaller independent page/content hosting
- Working with 3rd parties on shared projects without exposing them to internal tools and workflows.

Not Well Suited:
- More custom large scale applications with connected pages.
- Large content that is delivered through out automated pipelines. We do not use WordPress API.

I would say it is less appropriate for 5-15 person organizations where there are no technical contacts and organizations where go to live speed is the most important feature. Since GitHub deployment is being utilized at WordPress VIP, it might take a bit longer to deploy new features.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use WordPress VIP to provide our clients with a stable hosting platform. We switched to WordPress VIP after facing issues with downtime and slow customer support with other platforms. WordPress VIP fulfilled our expectations on these subjects.

Pros

When you open a ticket, support will respond very quickly
You won't encounter any problems concerning downtime
Performance isn't affected by increased traffic

Cons

There aren't any smaller hosting packages for organizations with lower budgets
Plug-in updates through the repo can be somewhat tedious
Timezone issues with support can happen occasionally

Likelihood to Recommend

Regarding their competitors, VIP is really suitable for larger clients with more demanding technical needs. Performance doesn't drop no matter the size of the project. Not thinking about downtime or performance dropping allows you to focus on other aspects of your role and deliver overall higher quality to your clients in larger projects.

We’ve been working with WordPress since 2011, so naturally, technology and innovation underpin everything we do. We’re one of fourteen WordPress VIP Gold Partners and the only agency in the UK to hold that accreditation. We use WordPress VIP as it gives the enterprise-level clients that we deal with the security, speed, and scalability they require. We work on many projects that require non-technical teams on the client-side to be able to undergo training to launch their own content, pages, and even sites. WP VIP helps us facilitate that.

WordPress VIP hosts our clients' websites. The main issue we had before was a lot of precious time spent on maintenance, scaling, and keeping websites optimised for best performance. Hosting with WordPress VIP saves us time and therefore saves us money. Another important issue we stopped worrying about is stability. There are so many hosting companies out there that offer all types of hosting, from small blog websites to dedicated servers. We have been looking for years for the best hosting that will deliver on stability and take the headache away from us. WordPress VIP did that.

WordPress VIP really changed the game when it comes to WordPress CMS and Content Management. A one-stop shop for all our client's business needs. We are focusing on Content Management instead of technicalities. The big advantage is the security features covering all recent vulnerabilities that any WordPress developer/user wastes lots of precious time fixing/updating. Performance-wise, WordPress VIP is definitely up there. We’ve been doing lots of optimization work over the last few years. Every client wants to score 100. With WordPress VIP we decreased the time spent on optimization significantly and now feel confident with taking more performance optimisation work than we did before. Lastly, maybe the most important for every business is the support quality. WordPress VIP runs a superb support team with phenomenal knowledge and expertise. Quick to respond and solves issues here and now. It is definitely recommended.

If you have high-end needs for high-end hosting, WordPress VIP is the best option. The support is equally as good as the technology as well.
