What is VEED.IO?

VEED.IO aims to make professional video production simple. Its online video workflow tools allow teams to record, edit, review and share video. VEED.IO has single-click features such as auto-subtitling, translations, transitions, custom branding, social media formatting, animated templates and video compression.

VEED.IO's cloud-based software enables teams to collaborate. Avoid slow file transfers, lost footage and laptop performance issues. Cloud editing lets teams work on the same projects, benefit from server-based computing, share videos with a URL, collate colleague's feedback, create a video library and embed videos into a website.

The interface is designed to be intuitive and simple to use, so the user doesn't need to be a film maker to understand it. VEED is used by teams in marketing, training, social media, HR, internal comms and product.

I think it's Too Buggy For Professional Post Production Work

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Used VEED.IO to generate subtitles and then download a .srt caption file.

Pros

  • smart AI was able to auto generate subtitle info

Cons

  • In my experience, massively buggy - does not work in Safari
  • Does not upload ProRes files in Chrome
  • Does not always save work even when displaying it does
  • Audio sync not locked
  • In my experience, Support does not understand issues, even when carefully explained
  • Timeline buggy and not consistent
  • Overall, in my opinion, just not a pro product, not useful for professional post production
  • In my opinion, not at all worth the $38 per month minimum plan required to be able to download subtitle .srt files

  • Would have been subtitling if the site actually worked, which, in my experience, it doesn't

  • Negative return on investment due to time invested in such a, in my opinion, buggy, poorly executed application

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I used veed to create clips for social media. I would also use Veed to record podcasts, then break the podcast down into smaller, sharable clips. Unfortunately from my experience those features were removed from veed with no notification which was disruptive to my business.
