We don't do anything super fancy with the system, but we do a lot of VM backups of our VMware environment. We also do backups to our S3 bucket we have in the Seagate Lyve Cloud. These backups are seamless, and we have no issues with any of the configurations we have run. While we have had some minor issues, support has been great in helping us figure things out quickly, getting us back on track.
Pros
Scheduled Backups
Backups to cloud
Ease of restoration
Restoration options
Backup options
Cons
The interface is not all that intuitive
Possibly additional options for backup locations

It is a fantastic platform suited for any type of backup scenario. The only possible downside, or where it may be less appropriate would be a smaller company, with not a lot of need for this scale of automation of backups. it may be too complicated for a business without a dedicated IT staff.

Veeam Data Platform is excellent for restoring cold data or specific applications like databases. It's less suitable for mass restores with very short turnaround times when hyperconverged systems are available.
As a subcontractor in the Govt field it is crucial to keep data backed up and secure. This is where Veeam plays a major role for me. Not only is the data encrypted as it is being backed up, Its is also encrypted at rest. Veeam provides multiple options for offsite backups increasing security and reliability. Great to have.

Veeam is particularily well suited when you have a single point of failure, in our case a single, large server running VMWare ESXi and housing our main Windows Guest, as well as various other application VMs. Additionally, not wanting to pay for cloud storage or backup, but keep an immutable backup off-site at a connected site, while also having a high-speed data backup at the main site. The setup was fairly straightforward, and works very well!

a scenario where Veeam Data Platform is well suited for is in case of ramsomware because of the trusted immutability, you can recover exactly the stuff that you need anywhere safely, backups are unable to changed or delete, its integrity stays intact. Nowadays is critical having an immutable solution for the backups because ransomware attacks are rising.
