Business Problems Solved

Server Products relies on Titan CMS to manage their public website, which features a product catalog with over 500 items. With a single website administrator, they can easily handle the day-to-day operations of the site. One of the notable use cases is the utilization of data node filters, which enables efficient product selection for customers. Additionally, the modified ecommerce Shopping Cart includes a Request for Quote feature that allows users to obtain competitive pricing from their preferred equipment dealers.

Another way Titan CMS has proven valuable for Server Products is in streamlining contact management. Previously, managing over 300 contacts was a cumbersome task, but with Titan CMS, they were able to transition to a simplified process involving just one Excel file upload. This feature has significantly reduced time and effort spent on contact management.

Moreover, Server Products uses Titan CMS extensively for their Intranet platform. Different departments have designated content coordinators who populate specific sections of the Intranet, overseen by an Intranet Administrator. The CMS acts as the organization's primary web hosting solution and serves as a means to effectively communicate the brand message to consumers.

Not limited to customer-facing functionalities, Titan CMS offers various tools that support internal business operations. It facilitates e-commerce transactions, interactive polls, video pages, and a blog section. It acts as a central hub within the organization where employees stay updated on products and new hires become acquainted with company processes.

While primarily utilized by the marketing director, IT director, and other staff members with basic knowledge of the system, Titan CMS seamlessly integrates with the organization's customer relationship management software used across the entire staff. This ensures efficient collaboration and enhances workflow management.

The versatility of Titan CMS allows it to be utilized for both public-facing websites and internal intranets throughout the entire institution. Various departments are responsible for maintaining different sections of the website, catering to both technical IT professionals and non-technical administrative staff members. The Marketing Department finds great value in Titan CMS as it empowers them to manage website design and content effectively.

In summary, Titan CMS addresses Server Products' need for a user-friendly content management system that enables daily website updates. It streamlines contact management processes, supports the organization's Intranet platform, serves as a reliable web hosting solution, and facilitates various business tasks. Its flexibility and scalability make it an ideal choice for marketing, finance, customer success, and IT teams within the organization.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

As a food serving equipment manufacturer, Server Products utilizes Titan CMS for a public website with a product catalog of 500+ products; with a single (public) website administrator. Data node filters assists with product selection and a modified ecommerce Shopping Cart facilitates a Request for Quote to a user’s choice of equipment dealers for competitive pricing.

The sites' Find a Dealer or Rep lookup also uses a data node filter. Titan CMS has allowed us to transition from duplicating the management of 300+ contacts to one Excel file upload into Titan CMS.

The Intranet is populated by department based content coordinators, directed by an Intranet Administrator.

Pros

  • Utilizing a Filter to determine what shows on a page saves countless hours of configuring content that should be displayed on a page - it's been a lifesaver how easy it is to set up too.
  • Smart Search takes the search box and makes it magical. Common misspellings and alternate names can still send a user to the proper page!
  • Data nodes and filters can also be configured to Find a Dealer, Doctor, Location etc. It puts the power into a users hands and makes is easy to use.

Cons

  • Adding link analytics to find broken links would be helpful.
  • Overwriting an existing file in a file pile, during initial upload could be made easier. Time spent tracking down an original on your network (outside of Titan) to do it properly is painful.
  • A Training Video Library would be very helpful. Sometimes, just knowing it can be done and a brief visual of the concept is all you need.

Titan CMS works well for our small team of authors and I have heard first hand how companies with hundreds of authors use it too. In years past the software was weak for handling multiple language sites, if this is your need take the time to evaluate how this process works and will integrate with your translation providers. I've had great success using Titan CMS to manage a large product catalog with heavily detailed pages.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Titan was used as our primary web hosting across the whole organization. We hosted 4 inter-related websites with it as it helped get across our brand message to consumers. There was a variety of business tasks that were utilized including e-commerce, interactive polls, video pages, and a blog. It was a common ground that the organization could utilize to stay up to date with products and get new employees acquainted with the company.

Pros

  • It gets easier, after taking a couple starter courses and really digging into detail with what Titan could do, it became super user-friendly and I actually enjoyed learning new things about the product.
  • The support group for Titan was extremely helpful. Whenever I had a question or needed some assistance they were always ready and willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything was accounted for.
  • Titan made it super easy to be able to preview and save recent work before making it live on the website. This really helped in getting an idea of how to improve simple texts and pictures.

Cons

  • Without taking any kind of beginners course through Titan, I found there was a lot of navigation that was very confusing.
  • Sometimes you really have to dig to find what you are looking for. For example, when there is a table of contents and you have multiple pages under that parent page, it can be very confusing as to which page has the actual information on it and which page you have to tweak in order to get it on the one you are aiming for.
  • Although Titan made it easy to preview your work before going live, sometimes items did not show up or were in different positions then what they would be in when it goes live. This made it very frustrating to tweak to get that perfect spot.

I found that Titan CMS was very good for the size company that I was with (50-200 employees). It was easy for me to maintain by myself, but it was also easy to introduce some key tasks to other employees so they could utilize it as well. I came from a background with no website experience and Titan actually enlightened my use of Content Management Systems
