Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Thinkific for my courses, digital download lead magnets, and digital workbooks. The business problems I solve are for job seekers, providing out-of-the-box thinking search strategies as well as leveraging AI for building new income streams for the everyday person even if they are not looking to leave their current employer. Thinkific allows me to create amazing landing pages, ability to email and create funnels, and so much more. It's a convenient one stop shop and I love it!

Pros

  • The accelerator program.
  • Providing tips on how to succeed using their platform.
  • User-friendly setup for putting together landing pages and course uploads.
  • The platform is very intuitive and you don't have to have tech skills to use the platform.

Cons

  • I wish bulk orders could be available for ALL plans not only the higher paying plans.
  • I wish I knew how SEO worked with Thinkific because I don't think I am doing it correctly.
  • I do a lot of searches in Google to figure out things like how to space in Thinkific for some of its features when working on my landing page. Apparently, there are some features that do not space and you have to use html to get the words to space in paragraph form and etc.

Return on Investment

  • Well, let me tell you this! I literally launched a unlocking new income streams with AI course on a Sunday and started getting sales within 12 hours, then within 3-4 days ended up getting 4 sales. About 7 more people said they will be buying the course as soon as they get paid since the course was launched on rent/mortgage day (aka June 1st).
  • My other course was priced higher and only ended up getting 3 sales within 3 weeks. However, what it did show me (it was my first course I've ever done let alone have up on Thinkific) is that I needed to revamp my course as well as landing page. Through the Accelerator program, I realized that my quality was WAY off and the landing page was NO WHERE at the level it should have been. So, that program helped a ton! Now, the course is revamped (just finished it two days ago), but this time around I am going to have a marketing plan in place before launching. So, the launch won't happen for another 3-4 weeks!
  • I like that payment comes very quickly. I typically receive payment within 1-2 business days. Also, there is not a huge payment taken out of the sale as a whole.

Great for solo creators

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Thinkific to create online self-paced courses for those that are interested in learning the content I teach. Thinkific helps me by bringing many different tools into a central location. I am able to easily upload my teaching content. The website is intuitive and well laid out. The ability to have a landing page and website created from my course content keeps things efficient. Additionally, Thinkific integrates with Kit, which is my email client, and the payment portal setup has been easy to navigate.

Pros

  • Integration with other platforms such as Kit, Stripe, and Paypal
  • Landing pages and website pages are generated using course content.
  • Being able to bundle products, provide discount codes, and keep track of students and their progress.

Cons

  • The original price was good, but with new features (that I don't need) it is starting to get expensive.
  • The payment fees can be a bit steep
  • It would be nice if some features like certificates were available for the lower tiers.

Return on Investment

  • Thinkific makes it easy for people to register and pay for a product.
  • The website and landing page features make it easy to look and feel like my website.
  • Being able to connect to my domain makes it more legitimate.

Thinkific is an excellent solution for course creators.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Thinkific to host my online painting courses and communities. As a former public school teacher, I found that Thinkific was the most user-friendly and organized to use, both for me and my students. I love the community feature where my students can upload their artworks and give and receive feedback. Their customer service is excellent, and they respond quickly to any questions or concerns you have. I would highly recommend Thinkific to anyone looking to host a course or community.

Pros

  • Organized & easy to upload course materials.
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Excellent hosting for communities.

Cons

  • Having a second community adds a lot to the yearly cost of Thinkific.

Return on Investment

  • I have been able to sell many courses with ease.
  • I have been able to host a strong community through the platform.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Thinkific as both the internal LMS, and as a training platform for all of our partner offices across Canada and soon the US.

The main problem was standardizing training across 16 different offices in Canada, to streamline sales training so it could be easily scalable. We utilize Thinkific as the training platform for not just sales reps training, but also training on supervisor/leadership roles and beyond through all 5 major phases of the sales business. Each phase has it's own training dashboard.

Pros

  • learning platform customizability
  • ease of course content building and hosting external elements
  • analytics and completion reports

Cons

  • auto formatting of some course building content, does not format well on phone vs desktop
  • filter by group functionality for website based content, it's mostly filter by enrollments
  • the plug and play web building is convenient but really we need a UX/UI designer to build a super good looking website. Plug and play builder works but doesnt look SUPER sharp if done by someone with no dev skills or coding ability

Return on Investment

  • pre thinkific vs post thinkific launch for sales training, our sales reps are getting their first solo sale on average 0.6 days faster. Before it was 5.7 days on average to sell by themselves, now it is 5.1 days on average accross 1500 sales reps that have completed the training since launching the training in May 2024

Super easy for technology challenged business owners.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I have been struggling with starting an online training platform for over six years. :( I am super technology-challenged, and as a one-woman business owner (and I work full-time, as well), I needed an easy-to-learn solution for my training business. And I found it! Super easy, with great how-to instructions and videos, and a quick response to emails. I have also recorded my presentation, and it is just as user-friendly. I feel empowered and able. Thanks Thinkific!

Pros

  • Setting up the courses.
  • Help instructions.
  • Videos.

Cons

  • When you add a new user and the person reports not receiving the notification email, there is no way to resend it. I need to edit the user and cancel their account. Then add it back again.

Return on Investment

  • Has increased my income!
