Thinkific serves Educational Services organizations primarily as a comprehensive platform for online course hosting and delivery, addressing the need for streamlined content management and student engagement. In TrustRadius reviews, half of the reviewers leverage it as their primary Learning Management System, integrating billing and credit tracking alongside content distribution. Its intuitive design and ease of setup are frequently highlighted, enabling non-technical educators to manage courses and scale offerings without extensive IT support.
Reviewers note the platform facilitates quick course launches and significant student growth, with 3 of 12 reviewers reporting substantial increases in enrollment. However, some limitations exist, particularly concerning data reporting capabilities and restrictive landing page customization, which can impact program assessment and branding. Overall, reviewers find Thinkific a robust infrastructure for monetizing educational content, though sustained success often requires ongoing marketing efforts.
Pros
Simplified Course Delivery for Educators: Enables non-technical educators to easily create, manage, and deliver online courses without needing IT expertise.
Integrated Learning Management: Functions as a primary LMS, supporting content distribution, digital downloads, billing, and credit tracking for educational programs.
Scalability for Program Growth: Supports educational institutions in expanding their course offerings and reaching a larger student body efficiently.
Business Development Guidance: Offers support beyond platform functionality, assisting educational entrepreneurs with business growth and brand development strategies.
Rapid Course Monetization: Facilitates quick launch of educational content, enabling prompt revenue generation and initial sales for new programs.
Cons
Limited Granular Reporting: Provides insufficient detail and customization in sales data and analytics, hindering precise program performance assessment for educational reporting.
Restrictive Landing Page Customization: Limits ability to align with institutional branding or optimize for marketing educational offerings and student acquisition.
Delayed Sales Data: Impacts timely financial analysis and strategic adjustments for educational program management.
I use Thinkific for my courses, digital download lead magnets, and digital workbooks. The business problems I solve are for job seekers, providing out-of-the-box thinking search strategies as well as leveraging AI for building new income streams for the everyday person even if they are not looking to leave their current employer. Thinkific allows me to create amazing landing pages, ability to email and create funnels, and so much more. It's a convenient one stop shop and I love it!
Pros
The accelerator program.
Providing tips on how to succeed using their platform.
User-friendly setup for putting together landing pages and course uploads.
The platform is very intuitive and you don't have to have tech skills to use the platform.
Cons
I wish bulk orders could be available for ALL plans not only the higher paying plans.
I wish I knew how SEO worked with Thinkific because I don't think I am doing it correctly.
I do a lot of searches in Google to figure out things like how to space in Thinkific for some of its features when working on my landing page. Apparently, there are some features that do not space and you have to use html to get the words to space in paragraph form and etc.

I think Thinkific is very well suited if you want more control and not a ton of competition. It is very well suited if you want to create courses because it does an amazing job with providing course outline examples for you to stay organized and so forth. The only thing I would say where the courses might be less appropriate is if someone is expecting it to be like an udemy where people can see a ton of different course creators all in one place with course recommendations. Thinkific is not that type of platform and I LOVE that. On Thinkific, it almost feels like our site is our own ya know. I tried out other platforms and it just felt like you were competing with so many other people and could see other courses. Felt like being on a platter served with others. Thinkific just feels more unique in the sense it feels like when people come to your page, they are only seeing your page.
I use Thinkific to teach masterclasses that are combined with a course. It helps me save time by doing group coaching or teaching several people at once. Because I can record the courses, I only have to teach the class once or modify the videos and update the downloadable handouts without starting from scratch. I am also able to offer the same course or masterclass as a recording over and over each year.
Pros
Makes it easier to set up course
Makes it easy to schedule events through Zoom
Offer very good training on ways to use the Thinkific product
Cons
It's not as easy to set up a pre-order course. Titles can't be published without information added.
It's hard to figure out how to setup a landing page to test interest before spending time building a course.
It's hard to figure out how to customize the landing page with colors, etc.

Thinkific is well suited for helping service oriented customers that I coach on ways to create passive income products. As well as, recording training courses for their employees, sales staff and in some cases providing information for customers. It can be used for training and teaching. I may be less appropriate for product based businesses.
We use Thinkific to provide on-demand classes to child care providers and families throughout Virginia. Our classes address how to increase the quality of child care, and educate families on the different types of care and how to assess quality. As we grow our platform, we will offer additional professional development opportunities for early childhood educators and child care professionals as well as educational resources for families.
Pros
User-friendly platform
Variety of options for different learning styles/presenting information
Analytics reports to assess how classes are doing
Cons
Built-in language translation features for content
More customizable reporting features to include multiple components on one report vs. having to pull several reports to get data
Ability to imbed hyperlinks on slide content
Likelihood to Recommend
Thinkific has allowed us to create and put together content for child care providers seeking to earn professional development hours and to grow their businesses. It has also allowed us to review analytics to determine how the classes are doing, and provide us the opportunity to reach out directly to users to offer additional assistance and share additional resources. We are also in the process of translating our course content into Spanish and wish we were able to do so directly in the platform instead of having to use a third party.
I use Thinkific for my online business course. This course was created so my students would have ease with learning. I highly enjoy that it’s very simple to set up, it can be done quickly and is constantly being updated. My students enjoy that it’s smooth, it has a very nice luxury look. And that they are able to start and stop whenever they please.
Pros
Constantly updates the sites program for better use to the admin and enrollees
Being able to have the option of a app to help support your brand and business more
Allows you to edit and upload right from any mobile device. Making updates for the admin easier and quicker to get content out.
Allows you to preview everything you do and have it in drafts. This makes your creation process smooth and not rushed
Provides you training beyond just the course set up. This allows you to really grow and better your business and brand with great leadership
Cons
I think the beginner course should have at least 2 admin options. As a small owner when you are starting to sprout but don’t have a huge team yet. The cost can be helpful if the beginner rate then jumping straight to the higher advanced.

I have already shared Thinkific with many creators i know in need. I found that the pricing the smoothness, and the nice and luxury setup compliments me well. And therefore sharing this great information with others makes me excited to see more creators grow.
I use it to offer affordable access to content I base my coaching services on. It allows more access to people who either can't afford or don't have the time to schedule coaching sessions. I market it whenever I can, because it's such a great deal. Essentially, it frees up time and money for both me and potential clients.
Pros
Easy to use interface
Easy to organize content
Easy to set things up
Cons
Attaching payment connection seems to be inconsistent.
Not sure if people paid after registering.
Upselling isn't helpful.

Thinkific is generous, allowing users to have one complimentary course to try out the platform. It can be used internally for employee training or externally to vet and orient potential clients. It can also be a great marketing stepping stone for medium-budget services. On the flip side, I wouldn't use Thinkific for higher quality presentations.
We use Thinkific Plus for delivery of our online parent education courses. We are a 30 year old organisation that delivered parent education in at in-person at-venue format and over the last 5 years has moved to a vision of digital delivery of our 3 main programmes + online self-directed courses on topics that are relevant ot parenting in today's world. Thinkific allows us to easily manage course construction and onboarding of customers. It is an intuitive and use friendly tool which is the reason we chose it. We have recently restructed to a very small team with no budget to hire developers and tech agencies. The other LMS we tried was a headache and Thinkifc allows our non-tech staff to engage with it easily.
Pros
User Friendly look n feel interface
Easy creation, upload and management of course content
Good, prompt accounht management support
Cons
Reporting of course sales and engagement - hate the 24 hour delay between purchase and analytics
Affiliate tracking and managment is not intuitive
Coupon setup & tracking needs to be way better - need to be able to have more option for maanging specific codes and tracking usage of codes
User - screen should be able to add columns for courses enrolled into, permissions, groups
Direct downloads please - hate that I have to wait for the email to make its way through my mimecast to get my weekly numbers
User permissions - need more layers between site admin and course admin. In our team almost everyone has site admin coz course admin doesn't give them the access they need and then they can touch things I don't want them to touch.

The only reason I'd be cautious about recommending is that I'd ask them to check out Kajabi and some other tools to see if they deal with the 'improvement issues' I descibed in the last question.
I do think that Thinkific is freindliest for anyone using Salesforce as a CRM because of the connector it has, that we used.
As our learning management portal, lead magnet and billing. Having all our courses in one place, downloadables, marketing and billing. building a community through this and all analytics available in a single platform.
Pros
integration with billing
onboarding was helpful and made it smoother than tutorials
provided examples and sample work that was useful in building our site
Cons
landing pages could have more options for customization
samples of courses or bundles in the site would be helpful
a chatbot as we build the site with suggestions

I use Thinkific for my online courses on how to enhance structure in your work. My clients attend my courses to become more productive in a reliable and sustainable way.
I have quite an extensive handful courses at the moment - some longer and some of a quick-fix format.
It's great that employees at my client companies that couldn't attend a physical course because of some happenstance can participate in their own pace afterwards.
Pros
Easy interface
They come up with features I didn't know I needed
They give me constantly ideas on how to improve the online course part of my business
Cons
I would like the Zapier trigger for new participant would trigger when I bulk import participants to courses in Thinkific
It would be great if Thinkific could handle Swedish tax settings
I'd like support for more languages than one so that I can have a page for my courses in English as well as in Swedish

Building and launching polished courses without coding: If you’re a coach, trainer, consultant, or organization wanting to get a course up quickly (but still have it look beautifully professional), Thinkific is a dream. The drag-and-drop course builder and customizable themes mean you don’t need to touch a line of code to create something that feels “premium.”
Creating structured learning experiences:
Thinkific is fantastic for traditional course formats: modules, lessons, quizzes, downloads, certifications, discussions — all the classic e-learning elements are baked in and easy to set up. It’s ideal if you want learners to follow a logical, step-by-step path.
We have a course that's hosted on Thinkific. It currently consists of a series of videos, a series of assessments and quizzes and a downloadable workbook. We're transforming it into an interactive course that combines all three elements into one unified package so the the user experience is improved, we hope.
Pros
Hosts video
Simple assessments
Basic community
Cons
Course builder is primitive
Analytics need to be more granular
Needs better info on the difference between the regular and plus versions
Likelihood to Recommend
I've been disappointed in the analytics because they are just not granular enough for our needs. I also had to use a third party authoring tool to create a whole new interactive course because their course builder is primitive and didn't meet our needs. If you need a basic system then they're fine.
