TeamGantt made it easy to be transparent

Pros

  • Visual representations - Appeals to both visual learners and non.
  • Permissions and assigning tasks - Only hands in the pots are the ones you want!

Cons

  • Accessibility - We like to pretend this isn't a factor when technology comes in to play, but I did have issues with some rather stubborn individuals who wanted to continue using post-its. While TeamGANTT made it easy for them to learn, it did require a modicum of knowledge to fully accept the program.
  • Didn't feel as though some of the PM options were applicable to me, and also that some didn't quite match what I needed.

Return on Investment

  • It helped me manage teammates on freelance projects in a more fluid manner so that I didn't have to keep worrying about where we were.
  • Aided in primary job activities in maintaining my own role in projects.

Great planning tool, easy to use with powerful features

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I am teaching Project Management at university. I was looking for a good and practical tool to manage a planning and use it for teaching how to setup and follow up a project schedule. After investigating the market, I found a couple of solutions that were too basic or too complex for teaching purpose. When I tried TeamGantt, I was immediately please by the simple interface and the powerful functionalities. I was needing a tool that can manage a work breakdown structure, dependencies between tasks, capacity management for resource assigned to projects and baselines. TeamGantt is doing all of this in a very simple and effective way. I can coach the students to create and manage their first project schedule in a couple of hours, including dependencies, resource capacity. The fact that all students can collaborate on the same project is clearly an extra valuable feature. TeamGantt is a great tool, and I will continue to use it for my classes but also for my own projects.

Pros

  • Create a work breakdown structure
  • Manage a project schedule
  • Manage task dependencies
  • Manage resrouce's capacity on projects
  • Planning reports

Cons

  • Add start / finish dates in main Gantt chart screen (left hand panel)

Return on Investment

  • Efficiency in project planning
