Talend Data integration at ease.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Data integration is a key to our organization's analytics needs. After applying business logic and transformation, we integrate data from multiple applications and store that in a typical data warehouse. So, Talend Data integration helps us solve this use case. Also, we integrate data between applications for business use cases; this is also taken care of by Talend.

Pros

  • End-to-end ETL flow with transformation.
  • It is easy to create a pipeline with available in-built components.
  • Connectors are available for many applications.
  • Data quality checks are made simple.
  • Manual data transformation can be done using Java coding.

Cons

  • Connectors for new applications in the market.
  • Default template jobs for a quick start.
  • More default data quality components.

Return on Investment

  • Increased overall performance.
  • It helps to make decisions swiftly.
  • It is easy to implement the required integration, which saves a lot of time and money.
  • Increased productivity.

Awesome Product intelligence tool.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Talend is helping us in getting the data extracted from mediation (Telecom) and transforming it into reports like Prepaid recharge master and credit limit enhancement. Products are also configured and used as a lookup for charging. We have also integrated Talend Product Intelligence with Tableau for region-wise revenue dashboards. For senior management.

Pros

  • Helps data transformation for dashboard creations.
  • Helps in decision making.
  • Helps detecting revenue leakage.

Cons

  • Pricing for sure can be the area for improvement.
  • Real time processing is slow as compared to other tools like Abinitio.
  • While developing batches, it crashes a lot. It may be the issue with me, but I wanted to highlight it.

Return on Investment

  • We were able to achieve our desired operations for product cataloging and revenue leakage detection. For that, Talend is commendable.
  • Downside is that it's a bit slow .
  • Not recommended for real time processing.

Enterprise and complex platform with Talend

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We used Talend to implement an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) that could contain all Supply Chain information in order to create an evolved reporting system. Moreover, we needed a flexible tool to extract and elaborate data, but also run external processes like data science algorithms that had to predict selling forecasts and raw materials supply to create some new KPIs for the production office.

Pros

  • Extract from source systems
  • Elaborate data
  • Run external processes
  • Can be used in a cloud solution

Cons

  • Support not as strong as other vendors.
  • If you want to use it in the best way you need to be able to do some programming.
  • With ETL component you cannot join tables from different schemas.

Return on Investment

  • Reporting accessibility faster: data are elaborated and ready for reporting in a couple of hours each night for a medium-big company.
  • Prediction analysis more accurate as they are elaborated with Talend and Data Science algorithms.
  • Higher costs with Enterprise Solution.

Talented Talend for your enterprise!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Talend is used at EWS to integrate data between our MS SQL Reporting Server (ERP & Exact Global) and Cloud Apps like Cropin & SalesForce. We implemented it in 2018 and it’s proved to be highly efficient & reliable while working on large datasets replacing the custom (.NET coded) solution. It is used as a middleware to pass data of Farmers/Growers, Contracts & Fields from Reporting Server (ERP) to Cropin and Yield Estimations, Sowing, Transplanting & First Receiving Dates from Cropin to Reporting Server. In other Use cases, it integrates Reporting Server & Exact Global with SalesForce to pass Customer's Information and credit limits, Products & Price List, Accounts & Inventory information.

Pros

  • Highly efficient
  • Reliable while handling large datasets
  • Integrates on-Prem systems with Cloud systems seamlessly

Cons

  • More intuitive UX
  • Increased visibility would serve the product well too

Return on Investment

  • It’s only been a positive RoI with Talend given we’ve interfaced large datasets between critical on-Prem and cloud-native apps to efficiently run our business operations.
