Pros

  • Simple GUI interface where everything is in one location and easy to use.
  • Simple setup, but allows you to be flexible with different security zones.
  • Robust, stays up and running.

Cons

  • Support lacks quick feedback.
  • Support knowledge of their own product is lacking.

Return on Investment

  • Great ROI, as we have been able to keep the same model running for 7+ years without any issues. We pay an annual fee for support, antivirus licensing, content filter updates, etc., and the product keeps running.
  • Initial cost is much lower than other products such as Cisco.
  • When we started with SonicWALL they offered a trade in on our Watchguard, although I don't know if they do that anymore.

  • Centralized management
  • Reasonably priced
  • Robust reporting capabilities

Cons

  • Manufacturer is focused on several solutions (so likely not enough focus in one area)
  • Not the most cost effective solution

Return on Investment

  • Blocks a majority of spam and malicious emails
  • Sandboxing options limited
  • Not the best solution out there that we have seen
