Capture Your Ideas!
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
I am able to create short 30-second gifs to explain brief scenarios.
I also record long, over 15-minute tutorial videos with audio.
Screenshots are a big part of user documentation, and with Snagit I am able to take shots of various sizes and customize them with arrows, shapes, text, etc to create meaningful images for the user.
Snagit also gives me flexibility when customizing media; I can trim videos, and even modify the custom tools for creating meaningful images. Navigation and control are pretty straightforward, and I enjoy the fact that I can have access to recent screenshots I have taken even if I am yet to save them.
Pros
- The Snagit editor is a robust but very easy-to-use application.
- The Snagit capture widget has a very simple interface to record or take shots of screens.
- The Snagit library is a gold mine as it gives access to all files ever captured on Snagit, whether I saved them or not.
- The Create feature in the Snagit Editor is such a creative way to show a process from videos and images using predefined templates.
Cons
- I would like to be able to scroll while capturing a screen so that I can capture a long screen.
- GIF quality could also be improved.
- I love Snagit the way it is!

The flexibility and control it gives the user are really good.
Snagit is great for creating tutorial videos, you can record yourself talking or have Snagit record your system sounds.
It is also great for taking snippets from different views: fullscreen, panoramic, grab text, etc.
